Hey all. It's a lazy Monday for me up here in the Canadian wilds, and I thought I should share a couple of vid recs with you:

SGA: Runs in the Family by [personal profile] lilly_the_kid
music by Amanda Palmer
John Sheppard can run from himself but he can't run from his family. This is a pretty interesting look at how messed up John's life is, how the people in his life have been bruisied and scarred and he can't do anything to stop it. I miss SGA, and this vid reminds me of all the reasons why. Streaming and downloading at the vidder's page.

Doctor Who: Eleventh Dimension by [profile] dr_bi
Song: "11th dimension" by Julian Casablancas
No spoilers at all for season 6
This is a season 5 vid masquerading as an Eleventy vid. It's pure awesome, with a frantic editing style that matches the Doctor's crazy energy to a tee. Streaming and downloads at the vidder's page.

And as a bonus and unrelated to fandom: An amazing timelapse of nature and landscapes to the Killing Moon by Nouvelle Vague. Because.

I have a question regarding the series finale of Stargate Atlantis. Obvious spoilers for the end of Atlantis )

Why didn't anyone tell me about [livejournal.com profile] icanhazstargate? 4srs!

If you have some spare time, check out the luverly macro series by [livejournal.com profile] bladeachilles, in which:

a) Sheppard accidentally announcing his Sekrit and True Lorve affair with McKay
Part I
Part II
and Part III

and

b) Sheppard goes looking for his daddy - it's crossover-tastic! Srs, I roftlol'd.
Part I
Part II
and Part III

In other news, I'm on a SGA kick. I love this show. Anyone know of any SGA/Lord of the Ring crossovers? I'm just curious.

To Grandmother's House We Go
An Anita Blake drabble

Disclaimer: LKH owns all things Anita Blake
Characters: little Anita, her father
Setting: Pre-series. Waaay pre-series. In that summer after Anita started to raise the dead.
[livejournal.com profile] abvh100 Challenge: #72 -- Appearances Are Deceiving
[livejournal.com profile] fanfic100 Challenge: #63 -- Summer
Note: [livejournal.com profile] sabriel_0405 said a lovely thing the other hour, and it pushed me into drabbling.

~~~
He stared at his thirteen-year-old daughter, sitting sullenly in the airport. She didn't want to be here, didn't want to go to Mexico while all her friends were at summer camp. He didn't want to be here either.
Anita looked so normal that his stomach churned. But she wasn't normal. Like stories Maria had told about her mother, stories of unnatural darkness.
"Can I get a Coke?" Anita asked suddenly.
He swallowed his panic. "Sure, sweetie."
"Thanks, Daddy."
He watched Anita, so young, so... innocent. Who would have imagined that she could do something as horrible as raising the dead?
Plus, I stayed late at work today... )
Contrary to popular opinion, I'm not dead, fic-wise. Every time I think work will let up, I am unpleasantly surprised as things increase in stressful exponentialsm.
Let's recap the WIPs for my own edification. (Not the finished fics that at this point may have a sequel)
The Front Burner stories (off-site links) )
The not sure when stories )
Are there any WIPs I've forgotten about?
All I need to do now is crack down and get back to work... after this month is over!
PS: The reason that I started to write 'Hey Little Sister' in the first place )
