Hey folks. No Inevitable update today, alas. I'm aiming for tomorrow at this point.

However, I have two things for you.

1. An Anita Blake drabble! It's fluffy and Anita and Zane, but frankly, I needed some pard-centric happiness. Refuse To Take, up over at [livejournal.com profile] abvh100.

2. I finally made a Nathaniel icon. Do you know how strange violet eyes and auburn hair look together? Anyway:

Thanks be to [livejournal.com profile] jjjean65 for the base.

ETA: The guy in that icon is William Moseley, who was Peter in the Chronicles of Narnia movie. And don't look at me like that. He's almost 19.

And a moment for a photoshop squee: Did you know you can use the erase tool with *any* brush? So happy!

[identity profile] watcher457.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
*sighs* i wish i could make icons, dang it. mine are funky compared to, say, yours.

of course, it would help if i used photoshop more than once every two years... or owned it...

[identity profile] emeraldswan.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That's so pretty! Excellent job. Will read the fic later . . . after dinner. :)

[identity profile] silver-venus42.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
This is off topic, but did you ever watch 'La Femm Nikita' the television series?

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he's so pretty. Enjoy dinner :)

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. Why?

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Photoshop is a learned skill. There's icon tutorials on the internet, if you'd like me to hook you up with some. Hints and such that really help.

[identity profile] watcher457.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
that would be cool, but i don't have photoshop at home so... *shrugs*

like i said earlier, this is about the best i can do. *points at sirius*

[identity profile] eiranea.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a gorgeous icon. Who's the guy that you've used for Nathaniel, he looks really familiar?

[identity profile] houses7177.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, nice. Who is the 'actor'?

Yes, you can erase with any brush. Neato, no? I love PSCS.

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It's William Moseley, the guy who played Peter in that Narnia movie.

I've got PS7, I think. It's still a fun toy :)

[identity profile] houses7177.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I knew he looked familiar!

PS7 is good. I've got GIMP, the PS emulator, on my Linux machine and it does a fairly good job. Not as many bells and whistles, but easy.

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
It's William Moseley, who was Peter in the Chronicles of Narnia.

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Did the install go okay, then? You're zipping along at top speed?

[identity profile] sorceress-death.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhh, purdy icon. I've been on a Doctor Who icon spree today though. ^^ I *still* haven't seent that movie! *le sigh*

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Narnia's good. Good clean fun. Or, a freaky terrifying movie. But in a good way. Those kids are so cute. It's a wonderful world they created.

William was a good choice for a Nathaniel icon. I loved the movie, I'm so excited their making another one!
and I totally understand...as long as their over 17, I say 'why not??' lol (considering I'm only 19 myself...=P

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm 27. It's just wrong.

William was a good choice for a Nathaniel icon

He's got that boyish innocence about him, with a wicked smile. He's going to be a heartbreaker in a few years.

Moseley/Nathaniel

[identity profile] thymidinekinase.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm 27. It's just wrong.

*is amused* As Anita occasionally angsts about Nathaniel's relative youth, there is a funny sort of appropriateness to your choice and that comment.

Re: Moseley/Nathaniel

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
*pokes* you know what I mean.

but yeah :)

[identity profile] firesongvx.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, beautiful icon! The whole youth-innocence-yet-lingering-wickedness about his face suits Nathaniel quite well. Excellent choice!

Haven't seen the Narnia movie, due to my wretched work schedule and the absurd prices at the theatre, but I probably should. It looks quite good.

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
The whole youth-innocence-yet-lingering-wickedness about his face suits Nathaniel quite well.

Exactly. There's something about his smile.... anyway, with the large volume of promo pictures for that movie, I'll never run out of raw material if I want to make another icon.

The movie's really good. Very faithful to the book and with great acting by the kids.

[identity profile] vivnow.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I love your Nathanial icon. Nice work. I sent you a virtual beer.

Eh...he's almost 19, that's legal age here in the frozen north (lol)
(I had a friend...17...go out with a 27 year old. Ten years inbetween em!)

As for being a heartbreaker, he really will be. I forsee it! ;)

[identity profile] needlessnoodles.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh! I love the new icon. I couldn't even tell that was Moseley. Makes a beautiful Nathaniel, though. Oddly enough, no I didn't know you could us any brush with the erase tool. (Want's to go play around now).

Violet eyes with auburn hair is pretty strange; especially in real life. I have a friend whose in love with Nathaniel and tried to pull off his look. I don't think it worked very well. He doesn't have the facial features for it.

I can't wait for the next update on Inevitable. There isn't enough HP/AB stories out there. Oh well, I work with what I got.

It's amazing what a change of hair colour can do. I mean, my Inevitable icon (see this entry) has Denise Richards as Anita and no one ever sees its her, with the dark hair and eyes.

Anyway

I originally had the Nathaniel icon with much more vivid purple eyes, but that was just too odd.

And the next Inevitable update is up.

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-09 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
*hugs* thanks so much! That's one of nicest things I've had happen to me all month. *hugs again*

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-09 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
*eyebrows* legal for what, exactly? Age of consent in Canada's 14.

and no, I will not tell you how that came into my knowledge in my university career, other than to say it wasn't like that

However.

My mum met my dad when she was 18 and he was 30. It weirds me out to this day, so I never think about it.

[identity profile] thekams.livejournal.com 2006-04-09 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I know the consent age, gotta love sex ed class. I dunno, 19 just seems reasonable to me, since you know, the legal drinking age and all.

and no, I will not tell you how that came into my knowledge in my university career, other than to say it wasn't like that
I wouldn't have even suggested it! There's tons of ways people can find stuff out like that. I always thought the consent age was 16 until I was informed otherwise!

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2006-04-09 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, don't mind me. I'm being difficult. It's been a looooong day. I wrote all of that latest IN chapter today.

[identity profile] thekams.livejournal.com 2006-04-09 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I totally understand long days!

...and about the IN chapter? All I can say is SQUEE! =D It's amazingly well done for being written just today, one of my favourtie chapters so far, to be sure ;)
