As far as we know, the last time Edward saw Anita's sooper-powers was in New Mexico, and since her bonding with Nathaniel and Damian, her powers have gone all spiky, with the Ardeur too. I suspect he's been paying close attention to rumors... all in all, I think he's curious as to how monster-like she's becoming. For good or bad, I have no idea.
