"Me," Anita said softly. She refused to look at Dawn. "I'm the Executioner." She tried to smile, and failed miserably.

Dawn's mouth went dry. Now, she finally understood why she felt so safe with Anita, why she'd been dropped into this world at Anita's feet.

In this world, Anita was the Slayer.

I so loved this realization! I cannot say I like Dawn, because i don't, and this probably the story I less like of yours (which doesn't mean at all that it's not good or something. It's that I don't like Dawn, and the idea doesn't click with me much, I guess.)
However, as everything you do, it's great and highly enjoyable.

I hope she can finally open and tell Anita and the guys about her *real* life before St. Louis.
But I guess you already hinted this in this chapter, with the talk between her and Micah.
