Poor Jack! Poor Richard!
How far are we away from a full moon? :-)
The simple solution: Jack offers to be in the presence of the principal and VP, with a licensed werewolf handler around as well, during the night of the full moon. (Of course, if Richard's asked to participate, this would be a problem...)
