I tried to pay attention. But one day Bert told me they thought I should take a break, because of what happened. I didn’t argue. Should I have argued?

Nathaniel was so careful of me. They all were, even Jean-Claude.

I wonder if he’s sorry Micah's dead.

Micah's dead. Because I wasn't fast enough to save him. I'm not sure what to do now.

You know...I hadn't thought of it that way, but you've really got a point. It truly must be something bad (like the sky is falling) if Bert volunteers a day off.
