Five things meme responses
My five things meme:
I said: You post a topic, list, category, whatever, in comments. It can be real life stuff (Top Five People I'd Like To Dine With, Top Five Musical Pieces Ever Written, etc.) or fandom (Top Five OTPs, Top Five Things Anita's Going To Hit Harry with once/if they get out of Hogwarts, etc.)
And now I have your answers

Top Five Cracky Ideas You Secretly Wish Could be Canon (any fandom!)
-McShep. Seriously, it's not even subtext anymore. Just a little more and it's totally canon.
-Crossovers. I know it's hard for scheduling and everything, but it's possible within the same network, Pretender and Profiler proved that.
-Gregory House getting something resembling a tolerable ending.
-Female characters who can be strong and competent and not viewed by fandom as the bitch. What a WACKY concept.
-Donna Noble in everything. That's right, I'd like to see Donna Noble every time I turn around, being awesome. Donna Noble for President.

The 5 best jobs for you.
-Fiction writer

-Photographer
-Caterer and event planner. Seriously, I'm awesome at it.
-Professional sleeper. In this area, I am a Viking.

Top 5 Things About Atlantis--According to Dawn
-A million and one places to hide from Rodney McKay.
-No vampires or demons (the Wraith don't really count because, well, everyone in Pegsus knows about them).
-Miles of places to suntan.
-Love her dearly, but billions of light years from Buffy doesn't hurt.
-Hassle-free laundry. Seriously, those Ancients were brilliant when it came to household appliances.

Top five fictional characters you'd like to have a tea party with and why
Hrm. I'm going to change this to a drink of any kind, because I'm scared of tea parties ever since that Alice in Wonderland thing when I was four.
-Methos (Highlander) because sarcasm always goes best with alcohol.
-Abby Sciuto (NCIS) because goths are awesome and I love her taste in music.
-Rupert Giles (BtVS) because he so smart.
-Bobby Singer (SPN) because he is an awesome guy.
-Jack Harkness (TW). Oh, the stories.

Top Five crossover ideas you'd like to read!
-NCIS/Supernatural, with Dean Winchester and Tony DiNozzo, because those two were so damned lovely on Dark Angel (Alec and Logan Cale).
-Anything NCIS/Stargate universe, because the whole thing just seems to fit (what with the military and stuff).
-Same actor, different character/same character. I am secretly a huge fan of bringing together characters played by the same actor, or as in a recent memorable case, the same actor played different characters who were in reality the same character. MacGyver=Jack O'Neill for the win.
-Real Family fics. As you might have guessed from the stuff I write, I'm in love with the idea of found family fics. Try saying that five times fast.
-Frankly, and it's not that easy to find, solidly written and well-characterized Gen crossover fics.

Top five favorite characters to write and why.
At the moment:
-Ziva David (NCIS), because I've been in her head for weeks with my current project and OMG awesome.
-Dawn Summers (BtVS) because I'm comfortable with her and how she is in fic.
-Rory Gilmore (GG) because of the mind-trip she's in on Physics of the Spin, and I know how This Will All End.
-Harry Potter, the perennial favorite with the magic and the broomstick handling and the disregard for the rules.
-John Sheppard (SGA), who's really the same as Harry (sometimes even textually) in his social misfit-ness and his goofy ways of saving the world.

Top five favorite things to eat for breakfast, and why you love them.
-Eggs and toast. More specifically, poached eggs and flax wholegrain bread with marmalade. I've been eating that for breakfast for the past few months, when I have lots of time to make stuff in the morning. It's just good.
-PBJ on flax bread. When I have no time in the morning, I'll scrape some butter, peanut butter and marmalade over frozen bread, toss that into a ziplock and wait for it to thaw and eat it in the car on the way to work. You know, when I had a job.
-"Breakfast Thing", something my mother invented on Garage Sale Day: In a casserole dish, place diced ham and bacon (precooked) and diced croissants, cover with raw mixed eggs and then smother with grated cheese. Bake until cooked. Oh, the cholesterol bomb.
-Bacon. It's the salt.
-Leftover pizza, because there's always time for leftover pizza. Plus, zero effort.

Top five things you'd do with your life if you DIDN'T have to work?
-I'd write all the time. I'm sort of doing that right now, exploring various projects and stuff.
-Photography, because I'm artistic and all that but can't draw.
-Continue my quest to support Better Web Design. Seriously, there's no excuse for teal writing on a black background. It's the new century.
-Run more.
-Drive places and see people. I like to drive and I like to see people. What better than to have them both together at once?

Top 5 Vampire Counsel-members you'd like to sic Mini!Dawn on.
I can't really answer this one as I don't know the Vampire Counsel Members off the top of my head and I threw out the AB books, but I'll answer for vampires in general:
-Jean-Claude obviously, because he may be Master but he can't handle a five-year-old telepath. Who could?
-Valentina, because it's so many kinds of wrong to want them together.
-Asher, because I Know How This Will End, and she's not going to look at him like he's a freak because to her, everyone in Anita's world is a varying level of weird.
-Malcolm of the Church of Eternal Life, because I think he's the one vamp that might weird Dawn out.
-Buzz the bouncer, because I can just envision the staring contest. Big vampire bouncer v. twee child.

Top Five Missing Mini!Jack Scenes that should have happened in SG:A
-Teyla beating up Jack in a sparring session
-Jack sneaking a Jumper out to the mainland for some fishing.
-Jack escaping from a Wraith ship, leaving a tonne of C4 behind him for the lolz.
-Rodney talks, Jack builds paper airplanes with the notes.
-Jack babysits twee!Torrin with more calm and aplomb than anyone on Atlantis.

top 5 cities you'd like to visit and why!
-London. When I was there as a kid, I didn't get most of it, and I so want to go back and just hang out and see stuff. I've always lived in very young cities and love the history in older places.
-Seattle. Just like home with the weather, but different because it's staffed by American, and it'd be like some strange Twilight Zone episode.
-Washington DC. It's full of, like, history and stuff, and I've been down the road of Canadian history before.
-Jasper, Alta. Because I spent a large deal of my childhood there camping and stuff and it's just an amazing place with the nature and the outdoors and the BEARS.
-New York. Because in the end, every city through history is New York, and that's not something to take lightly.

The cholesterol bomb sounds yummy.
I like leftover pizza for breakfast, too, but the very best is leftover pie. Cause, you know, fruit is good for you.
no subject
Although, my mother made blueberry pie for the first time in living memory, and OMG that was good. We totally ruined a white tablecloth because apparently the clumsiness is genetic, but whatever. PIE.
And I even have the perfect icon for this!

If you ever do visit Seattle be prepared for all the steep hills, crazy bike messengers and confusing one-way streets in the down town area.

Have you read Defect or Life and Death in the Cereal Aisle? Defect's Supernatural/Criminal Minds and long and made of awesome (there's Ellen! good Ellen!). Life and Death is Dexter/Supernatural and short, but perfect.

-Frankly, and it's not that easy to find, solidly written and well-characterized Gen crossover fics.
Vathara (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/77482/Vathara) has great crossovers. She is one of the few that can throw in a bunch of fandoms and have everything make sense. And has a few 'real family' fics.
