Pope Pourri

What have I been doing recently?

I placed in an icontest: See?

I wrote six BtVS crossover drabbles. The elements from last week, and and two fluffy ones from this week.

I've been watching a lot of Firefly. I love Joss.

Still writing Inevitable. Not starting any more epics. I'm also contemplating taking down "The Me In Team," or maybe making it into a one-shot. I don't think I'll be able to track both it and Candlelight. Any recommendations? I'm hesitant to outright remove the chapter from TTH... I've never done this before. Please advise, oh Flist.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a freeware or shareware program so I can get screencaps from my DVDs? I want to make Earth2 icons. I love Earth2. Yay for DVDs.

PowerDVD does screenshots i think. At least the version i had several years ago. What are you using to play DVDs on your pooter now? Functionality might already be there.

It came with the beast, InterVideo WinDVD. Anyway, I learned I can just do printscreen and get the shot. It's for icons, I'm not needing hardcore crisp images.

How's the impending move?

K, that was totally me. I'm just inept.

Didn't you get the email begging for help? :) We leave O-town on saturday, and hope to be back in beautiful vancouver (you bastards don't know how good you have it) on thursday or friday.

Yeah, I got that email. And I know how good we have it. It's soooo nice right now :P

for The Me in Team you could just finish after everything else, that way you don't have to worry what's where. I love the start and there aren't enough fics with our favorite detective in it. I think anyway. *shrugs*

Yeah. I do love Kate. And Zerbrowski. Oh man, the trouble those two could get into...

[identity profile] sorceress-death.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
heh. That would be funny to see. I just love Zerbrowski's sense of humor. ^_^

Maybe make 'The Me in Team' a series of shorts, as opposed to a single long story? That way you can write the bits you care about, skip over what bores you, and fiddle with the timeline as you like.

Also, nothing must get in the way of 'Candlelight'! ;)

And sure, you're not starting any more epics .. we believe you . . really we do. All short, managable little fics for you from now on. You are not remotely tempted by convoluted plots, dynamic character development or the creation of complex AUs. No appeal there. None. Really, we believe you.

No, you totally need to believe me. I'm not lying. In any way.

(Except that stewing Profiler/Buffy story. But that's the last one, I swear)

[identity profile] sorceress-death.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
*snickers* oh, when you're right, you are so right.

*giggles some more* Yea, we'll believe the no epic thing when we see it.

And you have a point about Candlelight. ^_^

Don't stop The Me in Team. It's not going anywhere. You'll pick it up later.

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

I just feel kind of bad with all these WIPs. I need to concetrate on Inevitable, as a personal goal. But the rest...

Nyeah. It's all a hobby anyway. Maybe I'll go in and add notes or sumpthin'

I second Sonya's suggestion of doing a series of shorts- let it be as it is until you have a revelation of more bits, less stressful that way.

[identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not so much the style I'm worried about as my utter lack of time to pick up the story. I know exactly where it's going to go, it's just a low priority and I can't see that changing.

Such is the perils of WIPs, I guess.
