Stargate crossover rec request

Hey everyone. I'm a reccer for [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec this month in the (can you guess it?) Crossover category. Of course, I'm blanking. So, a request:

Please recommend good Stargate SG1 or Stargate Atlantis crossovers to meeeee. Yes, they can be your own. I'd like it if they were completed, but you can't have everything.

I want material, folks, and I know I'm missing some good ones! (Sadly, the one SG crossover I can pull out of the air is Bridges by Tassos and it's been recced.)

Off to write. Really. (As an aside, I did a possessions purge yesterday and rearranged my apartment. It's like a brand new house, and it's awesome)

[identity profile] houses7177.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not really an SG1 type person, but I love your fics. Guess that doesn't help though.

Yay on the apartment! I love to periodically purge my living space. It always puts me in such a marvellous mood.

Ecolea's Changing of the Guard series? SG-1/Highlander. I'd be surprised if that hadn't been recced, but you never know. Scroll down a bit for it: http://xoverfic.com/arcs.html

If you haven't read Kei's "Trick or Treat", I highly recommend it. It's a wonderful read, and almost complete. It's a Xander-centric Buffy/SG1 crossover, and it presents a fully developed post-Chosen world, and absolutely wonderful characterization. It's here:
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-4301/Kei+Trick+Or+Treat.htm

Another fantastic Buffy/SG1 crossover is DonSample's "Misunderstandings", in which the Scoobies and SG1 end up investigating the same remote island. It's complete, and can be found here:
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-3244/DonSample+Misunderstandings.htm
It also has a sequel, "To Be or Not to Be", which I thought was good (but not as great), and presents the possible unexpected consequences of Dawn going through the Stargate.
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-6624/DonSample+To+Be+or+Not+To+Be.htm

For pure laughs, I have often re-read Kei's "A Hacking Good Time", which never fails to put a smile on my face. Another Buffy cross.
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-4965/Kei+A+Hacking+Good+Time.htm

And finally, while I feel really, really odd about mentioning my own fic, this one got a really good response. I recently posted a SGA/Quantum Leap crossover. It's a one-shot, but there may be a followup in the future, as the muse strikes. It's called, "In the Waiting Room", and can be found here:

If you want slash ...

Crusade in Jeans (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=5877) is amazing by Mystic. It's Sheppard/McKay/O'Neill - so technically it's a crossover of SG1 and SGA. :)

It's very well-written and enjoyable .. let's just say the get to be teenagers again. :)

There's also the Wormhole Crossing (http://sgxover.hugosnebula.com/) - a repository for SG1/SGA crossovers.

Twisting the Hellmouth (http://www.tthfanfic.com/) has a lot a few good SG1 crossovers with BtVS.

Teal'c's Wish (http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-7497/Nycorson+Teal+c+s+Wish.htm) by Nycorson is a good one.

Also, the Neighbours from Hell(mouth) (http://www.tthfanfic.com/Series-81) series by Booster is a really good. Three one shots (really funny) and the fourth is still a WIP, I do believe.

If I find more, I'll let you know =)

I bet before you had to come up with some, you could have named loads!

Lucky for you, I was about to post a few recs over at [livejournal.com profile] royalscribbling. I assume they don't have to be on LJ. The last two are on Wraithbait and TtH. I linked them at Wraithbait, as I don't think you have to join to leave a review. A little easier...

* What She Wants (http://beatrice-otter.livejournal.com/11220.html) - (Faith/McKay) by [livejournal.com profile] beatrice_otter
Faith gets what she wants, and she wants McKay.

* Small Universe (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewuser.php?uid=469) - (Fred/McKay) by CinnamonGrrl
Rodney McKay, meet Fred Burkle. He wants to know how she got there; she just wants a taco.

* Just Desserts (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=53) - (Anya/McKay) by Azar
When Rodney met Anya.

Can you tell I like any and all Rodney pairings? ;)

[identity profile] fydyan.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and how on earth did I forget Amireal's "Where Did All the Physics Go"? It's a wonderful, hysterical SGA/ST:TOS cross, that goes to all those places you never dared to imagine, and goes there fabulously. Sheppard/McKay.
http://www.amireal.com/Physics1.htm

[identity profile] califmole.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! I was about to suggest you rec "Songs Across The Ocean" and then checked the author's name....

The West Wing/Atlantis crossover Series West Gate (http://community.livejournal.com/west_gate/) by Melyanna (melyanna.livejournal.com) is really good. Pacific Rim was the first one she wrote, but the fics do stand alone. They are Shep/Weir ship Fics starting after the end of the first Season of Atlantis.

[identity profile] beneficia.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Check out Derelict (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2644549/1/) by Crazy-88. It's the only Stargate/BSG crossover I've read that gave a decent effort to melding the two backstories. Unfortunately it's unfinished.

You can also check out my series (by series, I mean two completed ficlets)over on TTH: Third Time Around (http://www.tthfanfic.com/Series-204)

Also, the series is the basis of a challenge on Wormhole Crossing, and if you're looking for inspiration...

*crosses fingers*

I would suggest Lovely (http://soulcake.skeeter63.org/lovely.html) and its sequel Tatters (http://soulcake.skeeter63.org/slash/slash.html) by [livejournal.com profile] saffronhouse. Both are absolutely great stories.

[identity profile] shadowartemis.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a good HP/SG-1 crossover that I've been reading... It's not finished, but I really enjoy it when hoshi-tachi updates. Here's the link, and hope it helps~! Moonshine Glories (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2962389/1/)

[identity profile] shadowartemis.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I just remembered another one. Crumpets Aren't My Style () is a completed HP/SG-1 crossover, and I really enjoyed it. I don't think I've read anything like it since. <3

This is a stargate crossover fanfic site http://sgxover.hugosnebula.com/index.php

some of my favourites are ones that are written by PaBurke.

Good Luck, I keep meaning to put my name as a reccer but I have little time as it is.

I have a bunch of them listed at my website:

Stargate Crossover Links

Those are all gen; the slash ones are the secondary header down on the Slash Crossover Links page.

They haven't been updated in a few months, and none of them are from LJ, but both lists are decently long and contain only completed stories. Hope that helps!

Most of the ones I would mention have already been recced... so I'll toss in my two cents. I liked Bridges. There is just something about Xander and Jack interaction that appeals to me. Recently I was reading one where Xander actually is Charlie... the military faked his death to screw with Jack. One day, Xander comes to town and meets Sara... well, here it is:
The Lost Son

It's kind of a drive-by thing, I saw this by going through the FL of [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic, but I reccomend going here. (http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/seriesindex.htm) It's a crossover between SG-1 and SGA and it's one of the best set of stories, not just crossovers, that I've seen in the fandom.

It's slightly AU as it is written with the premise that the SGA team has not had contact with Earth since they arrived in Atlantis.

I highly reccomend it.

Scavenger Hunt (http://www.skeeter63.org/~tvlit101/scavenger.htm) by DL Witherspoon

It's Sentinel/Stargate. Very good and you don't necessarily have to have followed either show to enjoy the fic.

[identity profile] crasi.livejournal.com 2006-09-02 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
I recommend Martha Wilson. She has several good SG crossover stories. Her stories usually have a slash overtone to them.
**Retrograde Series (http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/seriesindex.htm) which is Stargate Atlantis/Stargate SG1
** Walk Out of the World (http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/stories/walkworld.htm) Stargate Atlantis/Firefly Crossover, definitely a must read.
Been There, Done That (http://www.ltljverse.com/stories/beenthere1.htm) a Hercules/SG-1 crossover

[identity profile] fioreth.livejournal.com 2006-09-02 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
Hey Mhalachai.
I don't know how much you like anime, but there is a great Gundam Wing/SG-1 crossover by Vathara on FFN.net called Upon a Fiery Steed. She does a great job of blending both worlds and explaining the genetic changes that make the GW guys so unique. She also writes a really great Daniel POV. Here's the link http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1792282/1/
and the summary: Daniel. Duo. Two trouble magnets, one very unlucky System Lord...
You'll have to post the site for us after your done so we can enjoy the recs as well!

Did you take already a look at Teri's Crossgate: http://www.geocities.com/garnet_tm/crossgate/crossgatelink.html
because there are a lot of crossover fanfictions for Stargate or take a look at my site (Shameless pimping of my one site) for Stargate/MacGyver Crossovers: http://www.macgate.net.

(lurking, I know)

Two quick ones:
Bartlet for Earth, part 1 (http://www.sjhw.net/suzvoy/bartlet1.html) and Bartlet for Earth, part 2 (http://www.sjhw.net/suzvoy/bartlet2.html), by Suzvoy. Quite short, but dead funny.

Lots more funny/shippy fanfic on her site (http://www.sjhw.net/suzvoy/fanfic.html).

[identity profile] mchanjchild.livejournal.com 2006-09-02 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
Okay I'm sure I didn't see her name here but [livejournal.com profile] lisaroquin's Year In the Life series Buffy/SG1 is definitely worth a read if you like the insanity that a zeppo brings to the chaos of SG1

[identity profile] liz-ddraig.livejournal.com 2006-09-02 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think anyone has recc'ed Bodyguard Buffy on tth yet. By PaBurke if I recall correctly. Very funny, with Buffy being Dr Jackson's bodyguard after the Stargate program goes public. Very good characterisations, but not complete yet.
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-5009/PaBurke+Bodyguard+Buffy.htm

Its not a crossover, but the Barista series by dietcokechic is excellent, she's also writing a sequel to it. www.dietcokechic.com

"Are you Ready?" is a very good (uncomplete) Buffy/SG1 crossover by DonSample
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-7705/DonSample+Are+You+Ready.htm

"Far Beyond Normal" by jAkL is excellent and complete. Gets a little preachy in the middle, but is well worth perservering with. A darker version of the Stargate universe, Buffy-centric. The final action sequence is incredible!
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-8322-2/jAkL+Far+Beyond+Normal.htm

Can't think of any more that haven't already been recc'd. I have the beginning of one called "They Also Watch" on tth, but its nowhere near complete.
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-8905/Ddraig+They+Also+Watch.htm

[identity profile] iridys.livejournal.com 2006-09-02 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I second both Vathara's "Upon a Fiery Steed" (possibly the most brilliant crossover writer I've ever read - and this particular one is one of her best) and Kei's "Trick or Treat".

I'll also throw in "Variance of Luck" by Cairis Rin (at FFN), the only MacGyver/SG1 I've thought to be truly well done. The premise and buildup are just lovely, and the pseudo-science quite believeable (to me). I found the ending a bit rushed, but the rest was a real fun read.

Have you read the SG-1/BtVS crossover series, "A Year in the life" by lisa roquin? It is an absolute riot!

It can be found at:

http://lisaroquin.popullus.net/yitl/yitl.html
