End of the year questions

Hi everyone. As 2006 nears its end, the looming question arises for each fanfic writer: What navel-gazing fic meme to fill out?

I've decided to change it up a bit -- I want you to give me a question to put in the meme. An example might be: "What was the hardest story to write?" Or something goofy like "How many red herrings are in Story X?"

Anyway, feel free to chime in. Otherwise, I'll make stuff up and let me tell you: It won't be pretty.

What's the oddest place or method in which you've written writing?

Were there any plot ideas that you didn't mention to your avid readers for fear of being encouraged to actually write them? If so, how many were there?

Have you ever had the urge to write from the perspective of a bug on the wall, or from the eyes of a bird flying arround town?

Have you ever considered writing from the much ignored Wererats or Swanmanes or the Circus workers' points of view?

I think I mentioned before how I liked the myth notes at the end of the Roadhouse fics (they're like research easter eggs!), so, a tangentially-related question: Kookiest, full of woo-woo or just plain obscure... what's the weirdest research factette you've found?

Is there any fandom you love but don't write in, for whatever reason?

And how much do you plan your stories? Does it vary depending on the length, or do you have one method regardless of drabble or epic?

(much squee for the final chapter of Balancing Act, by the way! I'll try to find time to comment on it shortly, but if I don't: I really like the way you brought the Norse mythology theme of AB werewolf packs and tied it up with the Asgard. Also, that ending was a total tease for potential sequels :P)

Erm...

How does your muse inspire you? In very visual scenes? Or do you think of the overarching plot? Or does it vary?

How did Merry Gentry and the Unseelie get a whole vanishing planet to themselves without anyone really talking about the fey? Why has everyone forgotten about magic? Is River fey descended too? (oops... sorry that's loads)

I there any fictional 'verse you've been unable to squeeze into a crossover?

Since I hope to maybe end up researching this kind of stuff one day (and also because I'm genuinely interested) I'll go for the big, general questions with weird numbering systems because I'm tired:

1) Why do you write fanfiction?
1.1) Why do you write for the fandoms you do, and are there fandoms you like but just can't write fic for?
1.2) Conversely, are there fandoms you don't like that you write fiction for anyway?

2) Why do you write crossovers?
2.1) Why do you cross the fandoms you do, and are there some fandoms you like but can't seem to cross with anything?
2.2) Also, are there fandoms you don't like that you still think would make great crossovers?

3) Are there things you can do with crossovers that you can't do with other fics, and vice versa?

4) Why do you focus on the characters you do (for instance Dawn or Anita?)

5) What do you think characterises your writing style, and what influences it?
5.1) Do you think your writing style changes with the fandom and/or crossover?

I should think that's more than enough and you don't have to answer them all, although I have to admit that I'm really looking forward to your answers.
