I forgot my cell phone at work. I don't have a home phone. I'm isolated.

So.

I love that movie, but when I was a small kid (age 5?) the part where the toys go crazy scared the crud out of me. Seriously, I think I'll have nightmares. Thanks. =P

But then again, that would make a very interesting remake. And I'd still watch it... lol!

My friend came up with an interesting theory about mirrors. She was totally frighten of the infinity effect when you put too mirrors facing each other because she thought that it created a portal where monsters would come out of and eat her.

I call it the infinity-gate effect. =) I'm hoping to use the concept in a comic I have yet to create. And you've just reminded me of it. Thank you! =D

But yeah, that clip is totally freaky too.

You're not sleepy as you seem/stay awake, don't nod and dream/stay awake, don't nod...and...dream... Heheheheheh.

By the way: Pick up the Stay Awake CD, if you haven't already. It's wonderful.

Recut trailers rock. You can make almost anything happen with those ones :)

There was this set of facing mirrors in the elevator of the building I used to work at. Getting in there at 5am to work the morning shift was creepy. Right about floor 9, things started to go sideways.

I think that if I was stuck in an elevator like that for 9 floors I'd start freaking out.

Horror as feel-good family films and comedy as horror-thrillers in particular (eg The Shining, The Ring, Office Space).

Here you go. (http://www.amazon.com/Stay-Awake-Various-Interpretations-Vintage/dp/B000002GFM) It's worth it just to hear Tom Waits' take on "Heigh-Ho". And Los Lobos' version of "I Wanna Be Like You". And Sun Ra's cover of "Pink Elephants on Parade".

Creepy is the right word for it. But then if you take the story out of context, it's also rather freaky.

As a kid, I was entranced by Mary Poppins (movie, not woman), and yet the toys + mirror still creeped me out. Not to mention that Exorcist shit she pulls in the chimney sweeps' dance. I remember thinking the chimney sweeps were way cooler than that spinning head thing.
