Date: 2007-09-05 04:13 pm (UTC)Other Chekhovian vampiric/necromantic possibilities - the biggie - sucking the life out of people, ardeur, bokor majeur, animals to call, ability to create human/vampire servants, the telepathic/magical connection between Harry and Anita. And lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Anita and Harry are just two sides of the same self-sacrificial coin, aren't they? Harry's willing to sacrifice his life, Anita is willing to sacrifice her "goodness", all ironically on the altar of saving lives and doing the right thing. Gahh. Those two need a vacation. An interesting point of divergence from canon characterization - your Harry seems much readier to sacrifice himself in a rational, calculated move than canon Harry was. Obviously, canon Harry was willing, but he needed help. _Inevitable_ Harry seems almost gung-ho about it.
