Three dollars and some change

Being from Canada, where we have had both gay marriage and gays in the military for 10+ years, and the economy and the culture hasn't fallen apart, I watch the situation in the States re DADT and the military with fascination. Maybe a little horrified fascination at the way careers and lives can be destroyed. So yeah, I'm more than a little biased in this, which is why I wanted to touch on DADT with this story because it's an issue. I might be soapboxing a little, but it's my story and I wanted to. Fiction is all about real life, in the end.
