[Poll #1495534]

Anyone have anything else to add to the fandom poll? Anything else on any subject?

I'll just add here that yes, I am working on my WIPs, including Inevitable. Operative phrase is "slowly" as real life takes most of my creative energy and puts it into the "work" process these days/months.

How's everyone doing?

I chose to interpret "follow fandom" as "these are the fandoms I am acquainted with and when in the mood for fics stalk obsessively" as opposed to "am following right now" if that in any way skews your poll. *shrugs*

The new Sherlock Holmes movie just sorta makes me twitch. So not Holmes as I'd pictured him.

Yeah, that was sorta how I meant it. It's an open-ended q, tho - people have different metrics for "following" a fandom.

For me, it's if I'm obsessive enough to want to fic it :P

RDJ LOVE!!!

I'm doing well. Did NaNoWriMo this year, so kind of brain dead. Not to mention the holidays being draining 'n things.

How are you????

I'm looking forward to it for exactly that reason. My quintessential "Holmes" is the one voiced by John Gielgud (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Gielgud) for the Doyle works, and then of course Laurie King's Holmes. I was basically reading Holmes in first grade, and love everyone's take on him.

Plus the movie poster is such eye candy (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4059794944/tt0988045). I may be shallow, but at least i'm consistent when it comes to RDJ :)

My "new" job, started back in June, requires a lot of creativity and energy. I love it, just haven't found a way to work writing back into my life. I'm trying, and I have a spot o'vacation coming up at the end of the month, so I'm planning to write a bit then :)

How far did you get in Nanowrimo?

I'm sorta back on LJ. I've had one of those "you had to be there" summer and falls. But I'm starting to have a wee bit of time to post!

Congrats!! I know about trying to make writing time. I'm really tired these days, but even a drabble to keep the juices going seems to help.

I made it!! 50,500 and it even ended. I was really surprised.

excellent! welcome back to lj. I have to admit, I've been rather sporadic in my time here too cuz of RL... but now, some time to breathe at least.

Just in time for the holidays....

I'll kinda sorta see Sherlock Holmes on Christmas since I'll be working at the theater that day. :)

I would like to add the only reason I won't be seeing SH is because of lack of Transport of my own (I don't drive) and the unlikely hood that anyone in my family would want to see it.

The poll included fandoms I used to follow but no longer read obsessively, such as Torchwood, Stargate Atlantis and NCIS, but I only checked the fandoms I'm actively reading.

Ah, the wonders of Holiday working. I recall fondly the days when only the theatres were open on Dec 25... now there are coffee shops galore open. At least around here.

I might have to escape my family on the 25 to see the movie. Or maybe when everyone else in the city is Boxing Day shopping. We'll see :)

Well it has snowed and has been forecast (i'll believe it when I see it) more snow later this week...

It's about 10-28 degrees outside depending on the time of day, christmas is around the corner, I have 2 weeks left in school. and ACK 3 major projects due. LKH Faery book is due out this week.

THERE IS JUST SO MUCH GOING ON!

that about covers it.

Yay for not being ded!

I do believe it snowed almost everywhere this weekend; it's crazy. I can't even use snow as an excuse to stay home from work - it's been so crazy I have to go in. Driving in it this morning was not fun.

the internet (eventually) solves all such problems. (I refer, of course, to renting the movie off itunes ;)

I live in a place where, luckily, where snow is a rare occurrence. True, no one can drive in it, but no one expects anyone to. Good luck surviving the drive tomorrow...

of course:) I'm trying to think if its a movie my gma would like. Not the one who has her own website, but the more conservative one. Who loves Sherlock Homes. The problem is will RDJ's Sherlock be one she'll be able to watch?

From: [identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com
Oh right, the Mentalist. I've been watching that on and off this year. I forgot about that one. What's the Longest Journey?

I hear you on the crossovers :D

and thanks :)

In spite of the all the outward trappings of a "change", I suspect this movie will be very much in the vein of the early Basil Rathbone movies - taking the character and running with it along re-boot lines. Albeit a more actiony type of Holmes.

If she's into that sort of thing.
