Candlelight Four is posted. It's another of those necessary transition chapters, that need to get written but don't have any of that pesky action. Also, this chapter contains a tiny hint of a major plot point later on. But all kinds of buildy stuff. Next chapter we will return to the major plot, the Buffy and Rafael angst and woe fest. I'd post the Mind the Gap epilogue... but I haven't typed it up yet and I have to be at work in seven hours.

The extreme postings today are the work of several days of compliation. Although I did write Shop Talk Three and Candlelight Four today. But most of Switchback was written a while ago. Part of it's my extreme angst at not being able write yesterday (okay, that drabble doesn't count) and my mind racing away. If I just turned this to my own original works.... but I digress.

Good night.

I quite liked C4, even if it was a transition chapter. It had real emotional punch- you actually felt with and for Buffy, at least I did, even when I wanted to shake her. Well, I couldn't decide if I wanted to shake her or hug her, but it was very well done.

Dawn was good also, her desire to have her friends and sister taken care of, but also wanting to stand on her own two feet. She handled Buffy's over protective mutterings with class- and shows how much she's grown up.

All in all, I thought it worked well.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I like the chapter as well. It's just not a big shiny action chapter! (I had a reviewer tell me that it seems like Buffy's clinically depressed. Duh).

I like writing grown-up!Dawn. She's seven years old now, and can handle herself accordingly :)
