A lot of Anita Blake drabbles from the Drabble post. More drabbles up later, but now I need to do laundry.
madannekidd suggested Micah.
Title: Liar
"Are you sure you don't want some rest?"
Micah shook his head. "I'll stay here with Anita. She'll want someone she knows when she wakes up."
Cherry hesitated. "Micah..."
He stopped her. "Nathaniel and Damian are fine. Jean-Claude and Richard are fine. All Anita needs is time to heal, and then she'll be fine."
Reluctantly, Cherry left. Micah went back to the hospital bed and gently picked up Anita's hand, not disturbing the tubes. He brushed his fingers over Anita's cheek, avoiding the ventilator.
"Come on, Anita," he whispered. "Come back to us. Don't make a liar out of me."
cissasghost suggested a fluffy Anita and Jean-Claude scene with Monica's baby.
Title: Ideas
Note: No idea how old the kid should be in canon. Pretend he's about seven months old or so when this takes place, after ID. (Double drabble)
"I can't believe I left that… woman talk me into this!"
"Hush, Anita." Jean-Claude, across the room, sounded almost teasing.
I hitched the squirming baby up higher on my hip. "Don't you start," I said. "This is your fault."
Jean-Claude spread his hands, smiling so widely his fangs peeked through his lips. "How was I to know that Monica required a last-minute babysitter?"
The baby giggled and cooed, then shoved his hand in his mouth. It was really cute, but I was trying to be angry at Jean-Claude, damn it.
"So I get stuck holding the bag? Baby, I mean?"
"Oui."
I shook my head and ran my hand over the baby's white-blond hair. I caught Jean-Claude watching me with the oddest expression on his face. "What?" I snapped.
"I was only thinking, ma petite, how this picture suits--"
"Don't you dare!" I pointed my finger menacingly at Jean-Claude. "So do not go there! The last thing any of you lot need is getting ideas." I absently lifted the baby up to my shoulder, where he grabbed a handful of my hair and made cute little baby noises. "In fact, let's avoid mentioning this to Richard at all, okay?"
sparrow015 suggested Jason pre-furry.
Title: Eyes
Note: Jason in high school
There was this girl.
Of course it was a girl. She was new at school, always carrying her books with a shy smile. But there was a something wild lurking in her eyes that was tantalizing to Jason, something that promised sex and violence and power.
The rumours started, that she was a werewolf. Soon after, she stopped coming to school. Jason never knew what happened to her.
He thought about her often, though, whenever he spotted a girl with her hair down over her shoulders. Always, haunting his dreams, was the look of that beast, lurking in her eyes.
