Meme! gacked from [livejournal.com profile] girly_curl_3: take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she wears mismatched socks." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

Just while you're waiting for the next chapter of Inevitable or something :)

Black nail polish. Whenever I feel really crappy I use black nail polish as my shield against the big bad world. And I think I'll steal this post.

I collect those little high-bounce balls they have in the little vending-machine-like-thingies outside grocery stores. They're colorful, and looking at them cheers me up. I particularly like the swirly multicolored ones - they look like little planets.

I haven't actually friended you; instead, I peek in at your LJ occasionally. Still, it's a reasonable request, and you even get a two-fer: I am the reader at TTH known as CrystalOGrapher, and (drumroll...) I'm a crystallographer.

I've been face-to-face with wild wolves without any barriers. It was so cool and a little intimidating. I wish it could happen again! :)

Hey, steal away. That's what memes are for :)

Do you ever throw them at things? The balls, I mean.

Generally not, though if anyone ever tries to carjack me, I've got a ready arsenal. ;)

I love making cookies. And eating them. Not cake or muffins or real food - but in the past two weeks (school holidays!) I've made five batches of cookies, despite being an otherwise incompetent cook. And probably eaten half of them, despite my family also loving cookies.

And AAGH! I didn't call them biscuits. There, two things - I don't like using Americanisms. But it's a losing battle.

I'm Australian, but yes, I'm pretty sure we get the 'biscuits' thing from Britain, seeing as we have the spelling and all. There must be a website. I think FictionAlley or somewhere has a list...*goes to look*

Um, ignore the deleted post I just made. I love making cookies with big chunks of dark chocolate in them. So. Good.

Too late!

My mother insisted on a batch with white chocolate chips, too. Blasphemy.

White chocolate isn't *real* chocolate. The coffee shop in the bottom of my work building makes these mochas with real chocolate chips blended up in them. Droolworthy, i tell you.

I know. I felt very vindicated when I heard some gourmet-chocolate-maker guy saying that he always laughs when people come in, say they love chocolate, and buy white chocolate, because it isn't proper chocolate.
Now you're making me crave it. A Lindt shop has just opened within walking distance of my school, and their hot chocolate is divine - but sadly, it's school holidays, and my school is not very close to my house...

Mmm. Lindt. I walk past a Lindt shop every day on the way back to the courthouse. I think I know what I'm doing tomorrow afternoon :)

I have three different pairs of glasses; reading glasses, inside glasses, and outside glasses. It's because my eyes are crosseyed on the inside (you can't see it) and the glasses are supposed to correct it. Also, I can't wear contact lenses - they give me double vision. ยง~)

One of my hobbies is photography. I love to go out into the garden and capture the colours and form of the world around me - especially at my parents' property in the country, because there are so many different types of flowers (http://pics.livejournal.com/deepfishy/gallery/00005rbp), they grow their own vegetables (http://pics.livejournal.com/deepfishy/pic/00008h68), and the landscape (http://pics.livejournal.com/deepfishy/pic/00001bbd) is always beautiful and always changing.

I dream of gardens in the desert sand...

And I love using song words or quotes from books and movies to express myself. Weird, I know -_-

Near Goulburn, which is about two-thirds of the way between Sydney and Canberra. Currently very drought-striken, though we've had some good rain in the last fortnight.
