He kept waiting for her to come to her senses. To realize exactly what he had done, inserting himself right into the middle of her life without even asking.

After Chimera died, he didn't wait for her to tell him to leave. One day he just left his shaving stuff at her house; the next a pair of shoes. Every time Micah caught Anita looking at his things, at him, he held his breath, waiting for her to change her mind and tell him to get the fuck out of her life.

Those words never came, but still he waited.

Glomps "The Mhalachai"!! Great to have you back!

Amazingly well-written. Powerful in so few words. One would think the underwear would come first than the shaving kit then the shoes. ;)

I just realised that Micah's moving in Anita's home and life was sort of a missing scene in the books. I highly doubt if anyone would object to you filling in that span of time *Insert cheeky and suggestive grin*

I've found it's less disturbing to find shaving stuff in your bathroom one day than men's underwear suddenly in the drawer. It's a thing :P

I just realised that Micah's moving in Anita's home and life was sort of a missing scene in the books

Oh, man. I could spend a lifetime filling those scenes. It would be fun, though.

Love having you back! And with another little slice of Micah to boot. I so look forward to knowing more about him soon!

You have such a talent for getting into characters' heads. Micah has always been a bit of a mysterious character for me, but you make it feel like he's not all that mysterious at all.

I suspect that I'm making Micah out to be far more mysterious than he really is. And if Micah doesn't address several of those mysterious issues, I'm going to cry. Or, erm, whine about it on LJ for a while :P

Me too. But I think it should clear up some mysteries about him, seeing as its titled Micah.

Very nice. And very ambiguous, too. Maybe what Micah wants is good for her, maybe it isn't. It seems as if he's not so sure, himself.

More the latter, I think. Going forward (god, how I hate that phrase) I think he's got her best interests at heart, but frankly. they started off badly. "Hi, I'm Micah, and i'm hoping you'll notice how well-hung I am and not that I'm planning on betraying you to the big scary guy who wants you dead!"

I like the character, but geeze, Anita really needs to deal with that issue.

So powerful with so few words! We really haven't gotten to find out a lot about Micah, have we? I am so excited for the next book, I hope it sheds a lot of light on some things.

As I'm sure everyone knows, I really suspect Micah's hiding something big. Sadly, I'm not going to get to that section of Switchback before the end of the month.

Anyway, Feb. 28! I can't wait.
