Last post for the day, I swear. I was thinking about the concept of an Anita Blake movie. I know people have asked for potential castings before, but I thought that I'd ask you all for your input. Also, I know how much you all love a poll to tide you over.

[Poll #688161]

I reckon Kevin Spacey for Edward =)

If Summer can pull off an effective Anita, I'll be verily impressed.

As for Jean Claude. Anyone who -doesn't- look like Tom Cruise will do me fine.

As for Richard, I say all of the first three qualities are just as important. =P

Although, on second thoughts, Isn't Summer a little... ethereal for Anita? I always envisaged Anita as somewhat solid... Short, but solid.

Well, it's Hollywood. I don't think we'd get someone who was 5'3 in any event. I just wanted to stir things up :)

Okay can you clear this up for me. Christopher Lee? I realize I've been out of the loop recently, but, huh?

Tom Cruise, eww!!

(although, he was hot back in the day, great! Now I've gone and aged myself) ***sulking***

"I'm just being difficult" ? So many ways to respond to that, I'm just not sure which way to go. lol

Teasing...I'm teasing. Hope you're having a better day than I am.

I don't know. I kind of liked him in Interview...

Of course, I don't care much for him at all now.

Faith would be cool /if/ all the guys were markedly taller then she was... without looking totally freakish. Otherwise, River, as both kick ass.

Well, she's 5'5", which is shorter than Summer at 5'8"...

Well, compare the heights of Riley to Buffy in whatever season that was. It wasn't *too* strange. IIRC, JC should be 5'11? So eight inches. That's not too large a height difference.

I really wanted to answer Christopher Lee for everything but restrained myself.

I want Anthony Michael Hall (the guy from 'The Dead Zone') to play Edward . . he'd need to get into slightly better shape, but he's otherwise perfect. Definition of average-American, utterly normal, blend-into-the-wallpaper WASP, and yet he's got those freaky eyes. Edward.

.. of course, I think he might also be a little old for the role, but he's got a boyish face. And I tend to picture the whole AB cast older than they really are, I think. Keep forgetting they're mostly around my age or younger - eep.

I firmly vote Edward Norton for Edward. Similar characteristics as Anthony Michael Hall, but a personal favorite after Fight Club.

i just had to answer the last one, as christopher lee must be present somewhere. how about we make him nikolaos?

i think edward norton is the epitomy of edward, regardless of the fact he is, like, 6 foot infinity.

I think watching Christoper Lee play a 12-year-old girl would just about be the end of me. But oh, what a way to go.

Well out of the choices I had to go with Eliza Dushku, but I'm still prefering Rachel Weisz, or possibly Kate Beckinsale (like she was in Van Helsing, although she may be a bit tall I think)

And as for Edward.. Edward Norton would be perfect I think. Imagine him from Primal Fear and you've got your Edward. He's got the boy next door look along with the cold-blooded expression as well in my opinion.

for Anita, it's all about Christina Richie (Wednesday, from the Addams Family movies), though i don't think she's short enough... even if she's not much of an action-girl...

For JC, there's noone in Holywood that really fits the bill...

Matt Damon might do a decent Richard...

As for Edward, Kevin Spacey with a bleach job...

Summer Glau might be good. I could also see a latin actress like Michelle Rodriguez in the role. At 5'6 she's a little tall, but Rodriguez has a history of playing tough women.

Eliza would pull the look more than Summer, but (from what I've seen) Eliza can only play a hip bad-girl and her body language is all wrong for Anita, who is so restrained, not to mention the accent.

But then again, Summer doesn't look even close to mexican. Maybe curls and some careful eye-liner would help but... *shrugs*

The problem is, especially with the vamps, that no-one can fulfill that imagery, I have seen sooooooo many icons trying to be the various characters, and I always think "EW! that's so WRONG!" No one is that pretty. I challenge anyone to come up with a decent Jean Claude/Asher. Nyah.

Though, I'm sure it would be easier to do the lycans and humans. Due to someone's icon above I am now imagining Seth Green as Jason (with red hair....)

From: [identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com
The thing about Anita is that she doesn't look Mexican. The only thing she seems to have gotten from her mother was the hair.

I always thought Seth Green would be a good Larry. He is short enough :)

set would be an awesome larry, hehe

Jean Claude?

I don't know if this has already been suggested since I didn't read through all of the comments, but I think the guy who played Lestat in "Queen of the Damned" could play him. He's got the whole sex appeal going for him. Besides, I can see a Jean Claude in him.

As for an Anita. . .well, I think both actresses could play an Anita as far as looks go. I don't watch firefly and have never heard of Summer Glau before today so I can't say anything about her attitude or voice. But I figure Eliza could pull off an Anita personality. Though, I don't like Eliza's voice.

And hey, no one can be as cool as Christopher Lee.
