Date: 2006-04-27 12:23 pm (UTC)He's not really her friend at this point. She's Ginny's friend, and Harry's friend, but Ron has seen her in action, knows she's smart and honest and loyal.
Hmm... I dunno, I guess I see them all *more* than just acquaintances after the ministry and DA thing of OoTP. Including Neville. Maybe that's just my wishful thinking :)
And that's Ron -- not walking away when it's convenient, but staying because it's the right thing to do.
Yes! And that's why I like Ron!
This wasn't just a plot device. There are people out there who are like this, and if I was going to write a world where differences in sexual orientation are met with fear and anger, I wanted to do it in a way that's not all sunshine and roses. That's not the point of Inevitable, but I needed to have it in there.
*nods* it certainly doesn't read as a plot device, no fear! Huh. You know, now that you say that, I thought I had a really strong read on how Flitwick was reacting to the whole sitch, but now I'm all off-balance! :(
*shakes head* it would just be typical of the Wizarding World, I completely agree. Not big on variety are they? How boring.
:)
