Mind the Gap 8.2 is updated. It's all Anita and Jean-Claude. Consequences of Anita's injury.

I'm probably going to annoy a few people, but in this chapter's author's notes, I reveal the direction the sequel will take. Yup, the much mentioned aftermath of Over Flame is going to be the sequel to Mind the Gap.

I'm scared just thinking of it.

... looking at my posts in the journal, I'm writing a hella lot of stuff. Man. Oh well. Everyone's got to have a hobby. This keeps me off the streets.

Oh, squee! I think you just made my night. See, [livejournal.com profile] houses7177 rec'd 'Inevitable' in her journal, and I went and read it, and it was awesome, so I read some of your other fic (including most of 'Mind the Gap'), and I just read and reviewed 'Over Flame', and was quite impressed . . and decided to check out this journal. And now I find out there will be more! This is a good thing. A very good thing. So thanks in advance for writing. ;)

Thanks so much! I actually wrote Over Flame to exist in the Mind the Gapiverse, and it turned out really, really well. I think I like it most than a lot of stuff I've written, it just flows so well. I know I probably won't be able to sustain that feel through the sequel, but that's kind of it, isn't it? The surrealness of the first impression vanishes the morning after, but the magic remains. The sequel will be a romance, sort of, and I've never written one of those before. I'm going to have to try not to be too schmoopy :)

Romance is so hard .. I mean, not to be discouraging or anything, LOL, because I really want to read this sequel, but I find it difficult to write. It's all needy and awkward and raw - perhaps this is a not-so-pleasant reflection of my own personality, but I think the darker emotions are so much easier to handle in terms of character development. People having issues make a kind of sense, to me at least. But anyway, good luck, and I look forward to reading. :)
