I thought I'd organize my tags a bit more, and now have split up my fanfic recs and my fan vid recs. Also, a couple of links if you're looking for quality fan vids:
The Video Elite award site: Has the winners of their monthly vid search (on this linked page) and under "Resources" you can find a pile of vid sites for almost every fandom.
An LJ community with good vid recs in many fandoms:
vidder_weekly. Not much activity recently, but they've got great past posts with tons of recs.
Lastly, for my latest fandom obsession, a Stargate Atlantis vid, in case you haven’t seen it:
Stress (Rodney McKay) by Rache and Sandy (
wickedwords and
sherrold)
This is quite possibly the best McKay vid I've seen, and the song matches so well. *pokes* go download.
And for those of you who don't vid, some talk on the complication that is the latest chapter of Inevitable. Chapter 69 is the chapter in which everyone draws deep breath, knowing something is on the horizon, but not sure what. From chapter 70 to 80, no one gets to breathe.
ANYWAY, in this chapter I'm stuck on one very specific thing: Anita's letter to Harry. I've got most of the content down, it's just I'm in a quandary. Anita has to open up to Harry in certain ways, to show their growing relationship, while still maintaining her discomfort of him seeing her in his dreams. Thing is, Anita has so much going on that she can't talk to anyone at home about (mostly with Nathaniel, her own sense of failure, her fears). How much of that would she put in a letter? How much disconnect can exists in the letter medium, versus Anita telling Harry all this to his face?
So yeah, stumped. I thought about just writing past it, continuing on, as Harry has a hell of a lot of people to see in this chapter (and even some beat-downs to dish out). But I know myself. If I leave it now, I'll convince myself later on that it's fine and all that.
Meh. So yeah, I'm being defeated by my own indecision. And my strange reluctance to end the story. It's been my baby for more than a year. Oh well. I'll suck it up and write the end and then move onto the rest of the stories I've got going on.
PS: Inevitable is at 412,483 words. That's about seven levels of insane.
Oh god, you have no idea how hard it is to find an icon for this post. I need to change up my icons. Here, I'll use this one:
