Easily one of the best things you've written. I think I say that a lot but it's true. You've captured Jean-Claude's understanding of Anita beautifully. Dawn wasn't trying to be as careful here to be a child and I think it was the most relaxed time she's had since she dropped into St. Louis. Thanks!

I'm blushing here :) Thanks so much for your kind words. Jean-Claude and Anita's relationship makes the most sense to me, I guess, as I can understand him the best. I'm still convinced that Micah has something hidden, and then there is the thing about Nathaniel.

You're right, Dawn was not being as careful... I didn't think about it much at the time, but I guess that Dawn is more careful around Anita because Anita is the Buffy surrogate, while Jean-Claude is less important in the scheme of things. I suppose. Sometimes I don't pay as much attention to my characterization as I could.
