Even! More! Drabble!
Feb. 14th, 2007 10:55 pmBackstory: When I was a wee lass of 16 (I'm 28 now), Pretender and Profiler were my first fandoms. I did a massive big website thingy on Profiler (I was young and needed the money wanted to express my twu wuv for psychopathy), and just fangirled about the possibilities for Pretender. Plus Michael Weiss was the hawt.
Anyway, I spotted this pairing over at the TTH Fic-For-All and wrote a Valentine's Day Drabble that has nothing to do with VD.
Red Notebook
A Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Pretender crossover drabble
Author: Mhalachai
Summary: It's all about the mission.
Distribution: my LJ, TTH,
tthdrabbles.
Words: 100
Disclaimer: BtVS belongs to Joss and Co. Pretender belongs to any combo of NBC, Fox and MTM.
FFA Characters: Buffy Summers (in reference) and Jarod. Joyce also makes an appearance.
Notes: This actually works in a canonical, time-line way. Buffy was committed by her parents in the summer of 1996; Jarod escaped from the Center at about the same time. 1 + 1 = crossover! The title is an allusion to Jarod's red notebooks, which he used in every one of his cases to write down the details for Sydney.
"Mister and Mrs. Summers?”
Joyce stood; Hank didn't move. "Yes, doctor?"
Jarod pushed his red notebook into his pocket. He'd talked to Buffy Summers about why she'd burned the gym; why she wrote in her diary about vampires and creatures in the night.
Her parents thought she was crazy.
Jarod knew better.
He knew what lurked in the Center's lower levels, creatures made of man and creatures that had never been human.
He knew that Buffy would stand up and fight.
If he got her out of the hospital.
"I'm Jarod. I have a therapy that might help your daughter."

Date: 2007-02-15 02:50 pm (UTC)Strange through. I always thought the Centre didn't know about creatures of the night cause them figuring out would be a disaster but now that I think of it. they were already experimenting on telepathy.
...more?

Date: 2007-02-16 01:48 pm (UTC)Mmmmm Jarod... Seriously, I had the biggest crush on him - it's the whole sexy and waaay smart guy thing. And I love the idea of Jarod going to bat for Buffy - he would totally do that!
And um, ten years later.... what happens when they meet again?

Date: 2007-02-16 05:53 pm (UTC)10 years later, it'd be interesting if Jarod were to figure out what was happening with all the Slayerettes... man, the wacky times.
(I don't have time for more plot bunnies, but that would be so fun)

Could Maggie Walsh have been a former Center employee? Though I don't see the Center just letting any employee of theirs go. Unless she was some kind of 'double agent', working for the military while sending information back to the Center.
