Fanfic author appreciation week

Today's fic rec is again from Harry Potter, another Snape-centric fic. It's called The Fire and the Rose (and it's rated NC17 for teh sex), co-written by Abby and Domina. The set-up is after a potion's accident, Snape and Hermione switch bodies. It's one of only three Snape/Hermione stories I like (most others make me want to go axemurdery). Try and imagine Snape living through a spa night with Pavarti and Lavender. Mmm. It's well-written and the characterization is very good.

The other stuff by those authors is amazing as well. Go read it, if you haven't already.


ETA: WAIT A MINUTE! This is fanfic AUTHOR appreciation week. Ok... Um, here:

Abby and Domina managed, somehow, to work together to put out the best Snape/Hermione fic I've ever see (see above). Their writing styles blend together seemlessly, and I have no idea how they've done it. Their Snape is amazing. They don't avoid the dark past, or make him all suave: He's a right bastard with no idea how to deal with the ladies or friends or anyone.

Abby's other story on that site, The Other Side of Darkness, is teh creepy (and OMG good). Her ideas are brilliant and very in character (no redeemed Draco here).

In summation: love love.

A momentary lapse

My brain is broken. I forgot how to write Harry.

.... is it me, or is Harry mostly a passive observer in a lot of the early stuff?

More importantly: WHY DID I WRITE A HARRY POTTER/ANITA BLAKE CROSSOVER? AM I CRAZY?

Gonna go back to stare at this stupid chapter.

ETA: Eight pages of 10point text, and I'm only halfway done the chapter. At least the next part is the relativly easy Anita/JC/Richard angst. Plus smoochies.
