My brain is broken. I forgot how to write Harry.

.... is it me, or is Harry mostly a passive observer in a lot of the early stuff?

More importantly: WHY DID I WRITE A HARRY POTTER/ANITA BLAKE CROSSOVER? AM I CRAZY?

Gonna go back to stare at this stupid chapter.

[/grump]

ETA: Eight pages of 10point text, and I'm only halfway done the chapter. At least the next part is the relativly easy Anita/JC/Richard angst. Plus smoochies.

Harry is an observer in the beginning because he has no experience in how to act. I don't mean as a wizard. He has no experience in how to act as a person. He's done as much as he has because he's Harry. Another boy, faced with the same situation, would have turned out much like Neville Longbottom. Harry acts now because he has begun to grow into his powers. But he is very much a think first, act second, sort of boy.

Interesting Neville analogy. I'm totally with you on that.

As much as I love JKR, I have always had a hard time making out Harry's character. I'm not sure if that, in the last book, that had to do with the overwhelming teenaged boy angst, or what.

Le sigh...
