Two AB drabbles for your day
Mar. 9th, 2005 06:18 amThe reason for these? I thought, I can only seem to write drabbles when the subject matter is dark and depressing. And what's more depressing than character death? So here we have two Anita and Micah stories in which people are dead. See? A great way to start Wednesday.
Title: Hope
Characters: Anita, Micah
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nathaniel wanted me to tell you that he's okay. He'd come, but..."
Micah reached up and touched Anita's face. Her skin was soft under his fingers, but she didn't respond to his touch. She never responded anymore, only lay there and blinked occasionally.
Micah sighed, a familiar heaviness in his chest. He used to think she'd get better, one day, but after two years, he'd lost hope. Her body might be alive, but whatever Anita had been, died the day when Richard died in that challenge.
At least if Jean-Claude died too, we might have been able to bury her.
Title: Waiting
Characters: Anita, Micah. Anita POV
~~~~~~~~~~~
Micah came into the hall when he heard the front door close. "Are you okay?" he asked, so very worried.
I nodded and tried to smile, but the bruises on my face stopped me. "I'll be fine."
Micah helped me take off my jacket, over my injured arm. "Jean-Claude said Edward tried to kill you."
The panic was still in his voice, and I had to touch his cheek, to reassure him that I was all right. To reassure myself. "He got tired of waiting to know who was better."
"What happened?"
I let my hand drop. "I was better."

Date: 2005-03-09 09:41 pm (UTC)As for the second one, how do you see it happening? I think at this point in the books, Anita has too much to lose to play fair with Edward. Plus she'd probably bring out the big guns (ie magic) to win.

When I read, You have one hour -- Edward, chils ran down my spine. Very creepy.
