First of the drabbles -- from the depths of my mind, not from the poll, but soon

By then, it was far too late to take it back, and besides, she was used to his socks in the bathroom.

Gilmore Girls, rated G
Alternate ending for Luke/Lorelai, set first season during "Rory's Birthday Parties". (First two lines of dialog from that episode)

~~~
Lorelai smiled at Luke, serene with a day's worth of shopping. "Okay, burger boy, dance!"
"Will you marry me?"
Lorelai froze, half-way down to the stool.
Luke asked -- huh?
'What'. Say 'what' and leave! Lorelai's mind screamed at her. Just say 'what'--
"Sure."
I -- What?
Lorelai wasn't sure who was more stunned, her or Luke. She waited for him to take it back, to say that he was joking.
It wasn't until four years and one child later that Lorelai realized that he may have been waiting for her to be the one to take it back.
This would have been wonderful. And I could totally see them getting married like that. Although I think it would be interesting the scene where Lorelai finds out she's pregnant. :)
Aww! I love vicarious-Gilmores. This is a great example of what drabbles can do. :)
*giggle* This is exactly how it would happen.
If only it had happened like that!
*grins* lovely! GG is the only show so far where BOTH have proposed, even with a five-year interval in-between! I just have to go and re-watch that scene now. *happy sigh*
Thank you for bringing back the good memories!
I just wish it had happened like this, skipping them pesky Christopher years.
I'm a Luke/Lorelai shipper at heart.
Hey, that's true! I forgot that! Those two are so good together.
What ep is that icon from?
That really would have been a good way to have it go.
Luke and Lorelai, the early years.
It's totally something she could have said. And that would have been *fun*
It was an idea I've been playing with for a few weeks... but it totally fit in 100 words. I love these guys so :)
I can bet that there would be much squeeing involved... at least from Rory. Lorelai would have had trauma at being preggers again and Luke.... being a dad? Crazier than the April thing :)
It would have been *so* cool that way. But alas :)
I can see Luke making some comment that would make Lorelai want to hit him with the couch pillows.
Soki (or however she chooses to spell her name) would definately squee. And start talking about various baby things in the happy-squee like way she always does:)
that's one of my favourite scenes. It's the ep where both Gilmore Girls break down and they keep missing eah other on the phone. There's a pretty Dean/Rory scene in that one, too. Lessee... mid-S4. The one where Lorelai the First made an appearance, if I'm not mistaken.
Lorelai was facing a major monetary drawback as she built the inn, and this is where she asks Luke for the money. But in tru Gilmore Girl form, she ends up crying all over his jacket. It's one of the few scenes where Lorelai lets Luke take charge, therefore I love it. :)
lol And, watching the first episode, there was a lot of UST between them back them. It would have made sense for them to get together earlier.
