I normally have a hard time with summaries on my fics. On my most recent project, the summary is the first thing I have:

Title: Pretender to the Crown
Summary: In 1992, an American corporation known as 'The Centre' isolated a young pretender named Ianto, and exploited his genius for their research.

Two years later, Torchwood came to take back what was theirs.

I knocked out 3,000 words today, and have the story plotted out to the end. If I say it all came together when I decided I wanted to have a little oh-so-wrong Miss Parker/Ianto? I'm a bad, bad person.

I think that pairing is totally logical! Man, you really are the crossover mistress. I miss the Pretender, stupid dumb ending with stupid dumb explosion. I really did think that Jared and Miss Parker would end up together but nooooooo, they just BLEW THEM UP! Laaaaame.

I plan to ignore all that mess (mostly because I have read interviews with the lovely writers/creators who say there is more in store, and I can't see that "more" involving Miss Parker or Jarod as spatter on the paving stones) and just head straight into "seven years later...". This story isn't AU; we have a whole bunch of shiny Torchwood and at some points wacky.

I'm halfway through season two of my Great Pretender Rewatch and it's amazing a) how awesome Miss Parker is and b) how good she and Jarod are together. Considering that they are never on screen together, how much do we ship them? Tonnes.

Well, it was really over the top-ly obvious that it was one of those, 'AND THEN THEY DIED IN AN EXPLOSION EXCEPT THEY SOOOOOOO DIDN'T' kind of explosions. Is it possible to call some Jared/Jack (or Jared/anyone?) or are you leaving him out for the sake of not making this fic INSANELY complicated.

They so ARE the perfect paring. I mean, GOSH, they are so into each other and that's AMAZING, as you say, that it's pulled off with so little shared screen time. Man, now I want to watch the Pretender... *prods the internet*

Oh, this fic is actually 50% Jarod and 50% Ianto. Jarod will be pretty much pairing-free (outside of some background Jarod/Miss Parker). It's hard to explain without giving away that dastardly plot, so I'll stop here :)

In season two, even those phone-calls between Miss Parker and Jarod were awesome. Now I have to go out and buy seasons 3 and 4 to remind myself of the awesome.
