I have to admit, I love shows about serial killers. I was the biggest Profiler fangirl back in the day. I love a show from the perspective of the crime-fighters, up against an unknown enemy who is killing people for reasons unknown.
Then last night, NCIS came along and put my favourite things together.
I haven't been too enthused with this season of NCIS - I've found the stories to be terribly dull, and Abby's characterization has been all over the map, and I still miss Jenny. After the first episode (treason! spies! murder!) I was finding myself bored.
Then last night!
I love my team. They are all so amazing to each other. The dynamics made me squee. Tony versus McGee. Ziva looking out for Gibbs. Abby's utter certainty that Gibbs can protect her. And Gibbs, being 100% awesome and figuring it all out in the nick of time. He's such a great investigator and even if he doesn't get the computer stuff, he knows people.
And of course, having a smart and utterly insane killer was a nice touch.
I'd like to thank the writers, too, for the comparison between narcissists. Comparing Tony to the killer was lovely touch, because it's real. But they're right, Tony has empathy and Tony cares.
In short, whoever wrote last night's episode should be kept on permanently.
Forever and ever...
