I have to admit, I love shows about serial killers. I was the biggest Profiler fangirl back in the day. I love a show from the perspective of the crime-fighters, up against an unknown enemy who is killing people for reasons unknown.

Then last night, NCIS came along and put my favourite things together.

I haven't been too enthused with this season of NCIS - I've found the stories to be terribly dull, and Abby's characterization has been all over the map, and I still miss Jenny. After the first episode (treason! spies! murder!) I was finding myself bored.

Then last night!

I love my team. They are all so amazing to each other. The dynamics made me squee. Tony versus McGee. Ziva looking out for Gibbs. Abby's utter certainty that Gibbs can protect her. And Gibbs, being 100% awesome and figuring it all out in the nick of time. He's such a great investigator and even if he doesn't get the computer stuff, he knows people.

And of course, having a smart and utterly insane killer was a nice touch.

I'd like to thank the writers, too, for the comparison between narcissists. Comparing Tony to the killer was lovely touch, because it's real. But they're right, Tony has empathy and Tony cares.

In short, whoever wrote last night's episode should be kept on permanently.

Forever and ever...

That episode was so good that I actually kinda wished they'd blown it out into a two-parter. The bad guy was pretty intense and super-smart, and I would have loved to watch his unraveling over time rather than the quickie denouement at the end. I wanted Gibbs to go after him in a relentless fashion, the guy deserved the pain. LOVED the ending! HA! They declared him a possible terrorist so nobody will ever know his name! Priceless.

I have to agree, this season hadn't really been grabbing my interest. I liked the first two episodes, but not really any of the others. Then yesterday's episode came along. I was squeeing from the moment the team was talking about videos on the internet and they mentioned "Evolution of Dance" and then played the Romanian song. I loved everything you said and more. Gibbs' comment that Tony has his moments. Tony singing about blood. Ducky's profiling skills being used, and Tony accepting yet another of Gibbs' medals. This episode brought back the team as it used to be, and reminded me of why I love NCIS so much.

Alas, there appears to be more McGee in me than I thought : I too loved that YouTube vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60og9gwKh1o) when I found it.

But yes, really enjoyable episode, though with my only having watched this season so far, I haven't really noticed anything too boring about the previous ones.
