Yeah. Remember that comment I made a few days ago about a new chapter of Inevitable? Well, here's the thing. I'm covering a huge libel trial at work, which looks like it might be going on for well over a month, and it's taking up all my energy.

My resolution is thus: I will endeavour to write when I can, but things are being shuffeled around in light of work.

I repeat: I am not stopping writing, but until the trial is over I'm not sure how much time I will have to write.

(don't kill me plzthnx)

I'm with an online business news agency in Vancouver. We also have a small local publication, but all of our content is online for subscribers.

This trial is a libel trial with Tony Robbins (http://www.anthonyrobbins.com) suing the Vancouver Sun and sundy others for libel. It's ... long.

I understood on the spelling. Sounds interesting in a "that's interesting" as opposed to an "OMG, I've got to get every single detail of this down" kind of way. Have fun, and make sure to wear shades so you aren't blinded by the gleaming whiteness of his teeth.

Future so bright...

We (the media gossi-pmongers corps) are not even sure if Tony or his dear wife will testify. The speculation is rife, but his lawyer is not telling.

And his lawyer... yeesh. The man's brilliant. I've dealt with him before through work, and there is no one else I'd want as my lawyer if I were sued for libel/suing for libel. It makes for an entertaining time in court.

Does it now? Is he making all the other attorneys look bumbling, a la the Michael Jackson case? And there is nothing wrong with gossipmongers journalists. My favorites are the ones that write for People mag. :D

Well, we listened to one of Michael Jackson's lawyers testify on Tuesday; all he had to say was stuff about letters he sent the Vancovuer Sun.

I hope it's more interesting tomorrow. My work today was really not quality copy, I have to admit.

Is he making all the other attorneys look bumbling

Knowing all that I do about Canadian libel law, I have to say yes. It's an odd defence the Sun has up (it's all true!) when the two main sources in the story (the ex-husband and a ex-con buddy) have retracted their comments.

We'll see.

So it's smoke and mirrors and wishful thinking on their parts is it? Here's hoping something better comes along for you. Maybe they have some seedy-looking character who heard something while 'liberating' a wallet from a passerby or something like that. :D
