Hey, everyone! Since the book is now out to most of the world, I thought I would post a poll about HBP and fic and you and all that. Feel free to fill it out. THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS POLL. I haven't even gotten the book yet, so I cannot spoil a thing. This is an exercise in how people reacted, not to what they read.

To that end: PLEASE pimp the poll! PLEASE fill it out! PLEASE do not put spoilers in the comments! I am screening comments to that effect, and will be on several times a day to unscreen. There are some people who are fanatical about remaining unspoiled, and so I will do all I can to preserve that fanatacism.

Onto the poll!

[Poll #533498]

Thanks!

Um, typo, I don't write fanfic, just read it. And I apparently have a lot in common with lyells, but that's neither here nor there. *grin*

I believe my taste in HP fanfic is out of the mainstream because I refuse to read crap. ^^()

OotP almost killed my appreciation for the HP canon. HBP has restored it in full, and more. WOW.

You forgot eat on the last question :D I can tell you I screamed then showered then ate and am now talking obsessively about it.

I clicked that I don't think my fic tastes are out of the mainstream because I'm surrounded by people who like the same fics, but when I think about it, they are rather odd. Although I suppose I was thinking in terms of plot, if you take things in terms of ship my tastes are definitely out there.

I'm about as far from mainstream as I can get, I think. There's only so much Draco is evil, Harry is a demi god, Hermione does Snape or Ron crap that one girl can take.

What was interesting is the night before the book came out, J and I sat down and hashed out everything we thought would happen.

And it did, down to the last little detail.

Which is sort of exciting, sort of disappointing. I like surprises, but it was good to see things went the way I expected them to. I'm not upset about Snape- because I don't think things are what they appear. I'm not upset about Dumbles because I knew it would happen. I was far more upset about Sirius in OotP. I loved all of it, even the WonWon bits because it was so realistic highschooler I thought she was channeling my life. Very very well done.
