Inevitable 27: That's Not What Love Is To Me is up.
At TTH
(and if TTH is broken:)
At Pomme de Sang
At Skyehawke
Comments on this chapter: It's fluffy, or at least as fluffy as I will ever write. A nice (nice?) interlude for Anita (yes, another Anita-only POV chapter. Probably the last one). JC/Anita fans, rejoice!
The rest will be slower in coming out because I think I messed up my wrist again. This is what happens when I make icons. *grumble*.
As usual, any comments are appreciated. I live for comments. And any talk at all on AB or HP :)

Date: 2005-08-05 01:20 pm (UTC)If I'm reading you right about the slash, you're as much a stickler for characterization as I am. Personally, I can't force characters to do stuff, or have them act outside the way we see them in the books without pages and pages of backstory. And I've got another story to tell right now.
Other than that, I can't say much about slash. I will read slash stories, but as with any story I read, I look for chracterization above all. (And I have read a few awesome "slash" stories, mostly set in the HPverse.)
Thanks for reading!

Date: 2005-08-05 01:18 pm (UTC)It seems Anita is mostly glued back together. There's (emotional) scars to show for her experience, but she's functioning again. Can't wait to see where it goes from here. Great chapter!

Date: 2005-08-06 07:35 am (UTC)It's just that, after LKH said Edward won't be in Danse Macabre (which I won't get for ages anyway, being in Australia)...I'm glad you've got it covered.
In whatever manner that may be.

Date: 2005-08-06 10:23 am (UTC)The difference of opinion on Harry's training session (with Jean-Claude) is quite interesting. Anita, despite her best efforts, hasn't been able to convince herself (fully) that, when it comes to the "I've got to protect X" habit she has, Harry isn't weak/soft enough that he's going to be a permanent resident of Group X. Likewise, Jean-Claude's reaction shows some of the habits he built up (first as a whipping boy for a noble, then latter as a fledgling vampire) during the first few decades of his existence. Namely, if you don't want to be (or remain) someone's prey, then you have to get stronger.
Their comments about Meng Die also show some interesting sides to them. First off, Jean-Claude's (semi-) unvoiced comments the Meng Die could have been much more successful if she'd gone for the "seduce" option, instead of the "mental hammer to the head" option. Then there's the little exchange about Jean-Claude not thinking that Meng Die is ready (at least not yet) to become a Master of a City, and not just because she isn't powerful enough yet.
Thanks for your email message, btw. I'll be composing a reply to your response once I have both free time and no problems using my email service.
Also, I can only wince in sympathy at the your current problem with your wrist. Well, that and hope you feel better soon.
