Date: 2005-08-11 07:05 am (UTC)It was a British comedy series set in a small village in occupied France during WW2. I grew up with it, and still enjoy the characters and zany plots and double entendres. It's on my interests list for the same reason Black Books, Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister, the Discworld series and Invader Zim are on the list, too - they reflect certain aspects of my sense of humour/outlook on life.
The thing about 'Allo 'Allo was that - although the actors were all British and speaking English - the characters who were French, German or British spoke with a suitable accent, and changed accents if they were speaking one of the other languages. I attribute my knack with German in school with listening to 'Allo 'Allo all those years. Does that count as an anecdote?
