'Allo 'Allo.

It was a British comedy series set in a small village in occupied France during WW2. I grew up with it, and still enjoy the characters and zany plots and double entendres. It's on my interests list for the same reason Black Books, Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister, the Discworld series and Invader Zim are on the list, too - they reflect certain aspects of my sense of humour/outlook on life.

The thing about 'Allo 'Allo was that - although the actors were all British and speaking English - the characters who were French, German or British spoke with a suitable accent, and changed accents if they were speaking one of the other languages. I attribute my knack with German in school with listening to 'Allo 'Allo all those years. Does that count as an anecdote?

I have seen it too and now they have a re-run on one of the channels. Brilliant. I SO adore the line: "Listen carefully, I shall say this only once" with a strong French accent. :D

That counts as an anecdote. My accent in French class really sucked. I think it had to do with my distain for... okay, school. Not what you'd call a motivated student :P

As far as I recall, I was good with accents (French, German, maybe even with Japanese. It's harder to claim you had a good accent with Latin, but I could at least pronounce it). It's just that I got sick of trying to make meaningful conversation with them. Hence my love for Latin, which made no demands that I talk about my family and hobbies for ten minutes.

I don't usually take requests. Sometimes I'll do a drabble request fest, but rarely. It takes me a lot to get into a fic, and as I like things to be as IC as possible, there are something I can't write, sorry.
