Let me sum up my evening:

Bus ride home: $2.25
Man-hours in cleaning up the kitchen: 2.4
Calling the plumber after he's 2.5 hours late, only to be told that someone at the office was supposed to have called me to cancel, and it will take a much longer time than originally planned for them to dig up my floor to replace the pipes: Priceless.

For the little screaming frustrations in life, there's Mastercard.
(Actually, there's my landlady to deal with that.)

I'm going to find some dinner.

*pats on the back*

There, there. We on the intarweb love you!

(and some plumbers, as with other tradesmen, can be terribly unreliable)

I ended up calling my landlady, and she dealt with calling all kinds of people. Seems the plumbers got stuck at an eariler job, but still, someone from the office was supposed to have called me. Gah.

At least someone loves me :)

Thanks

Ouch. I've been there. Only I own my home so it is my problem. There's nothing like walking into your kitchen to discover an inch of water on the floor. Dirty water. With little disposal bits.

Good luck!

That's the nice thing about this place: It's old, the rent is cheap, and the landlady is totally understanding when things break.

But still, one day I'd like my own place.... Ah, to dream.

Very cleverly done, but I feel your pain!

Why professionals like plumbers, and floor installers, and electricians are so cavalier with their customers time is beyond me. Frustrating because there isn't a whole heck of a lot you can do about it but kick and scream.

Hope it eventually gets repaired to your satisfaction.

Seems that they were stuck at an earlier job and forgot to call me to cancel. *sigh*

And I can't wait to see what they are going to have to do for this job. I'll hide in the corner and watch, appalled, I'm sure.

I feel for you, cherie. Would you like some tea? Or perhaps some curried chicken?

*perks up* Do you have a curried chicken recipe for me?

*hugs* I'm sorry. Plumbing issues blow.

Frustrated, but not yet daunted! Viva la Comida!

Being daunted isn't in my nature.

Okay, it is, but I can suck it up and make a joke to my flist. Sure makes me happier :)

The way it currently stands, the landlady will be letting them in on Monday at 1pm while I'm at work. I get to come home to a wrecked floor. Yay me.
