I knocked back my third cup of coffee for the morning, a new record even for me. I felt like death warmed over, and for once the coffee wasn't helping.

Larry stumbled up to the coffee maker. "I'm gonna die," he muttered, reaching for the pot. It wasn't until he upended the pot over his cup that he realized there was no coffee left.

I smirked half-heartedly at him. "That's what no sleep will get you." His woebegone expression made me sigh. "Fine, I'll make more."

Setting my cup on the counter, I picked up the coffee can. Larry was panting with anticipation as I set the pot to brew.

My tired eyes noticed something on the edge of the can, and my jaw dropped.

"Decaf," I breathed, peeling back the label to reveal the true labelling underneath. "That son of a bitch is feeding us decaf!" I slapped the tin down. "I'm going to beat Bert to death with a spade," I declared, starting toward his office. Larry got in my way and I almost tripped over him.

"You can't kill Bert for putting decaf in the regular tin," Larry said.

"Why not?"

Larry had to think about that. "Because Tammy will yell at me if you do?" he said finally.

"Fine," I growled. "I'll think of something else."

"Good. Let's hit a Starbucks before you do. I need some real coffee."

"You're buying."

Yes, I was thinking about what to use as the prompt (it was coffee for abvh100 and this came to me. Combining Anita's love for coffee and her dislike for Bert just came naturaly :)
