I think that an update list for your fic would be fantastic, but I seriously doubt I'd join. Thing is, I really don't read anything posted to the groups I'm in already. . .

Yeah. I'm thinking about those people who aren't on LJ... some people like the email lists.

I'm just wondering if I did it, if anyone would join, or if I'd be there all by my onesey. Or if, you know, anyone actually likes Inevitable. *sigh* I started on the Harry section last night, and I'm freaking out about my Ron voice. I need a ron icon.

Yes, lots of people do like lists. I can tell as there are still members of mine, despite the fact that I've not updated anything since . . . oh, September or so. *sigh*

I love Ron. He's one of my favorite characters. Why are you freaking out? And, even though I'm not sure I've offered before (which is horrible of me), feel free to use me as a sounding board should you ever want to.

Ron's a hard character to get right, you know? He's more prickly than Harry, and even though he's his best friend, there is that thin undercurrent of jealousy in all that he has going on, esp. with Harry's fame/money/everything. How much does one play that up, in varrying situations, etc.

Ron's somebody who is very smart, but he's afraid that he won't be able to match his brothers, all of whom have excelled in one way or another. Though it looks like with Percy's monumental cock-ups, some of the pressure is off Ron now. And it helps that he's proving to be a good Keeper, as well as a good friend. And now he's got Hermione, a lot of what he used to worry about isn't as worrying as it used to be; he's getting his priorities straight.

I can see Ron seeing New!Improved!Harry and worrying that Hermione might fall for him. Hermione will soon disabuse Ron of that notion. Using a crowbar.

Meanwhile: I'm assuming that you had Ron and/or Hermione -- with parents in tow -- go to the Dursleys to fetch Hedwig and the Firebolt, right? ;-) (Hint, hint, hint.)

He's getting his priorities straight and he's growing up, but I think at 17 you're allowed to slip back into those childish ways at times. Especially for the first few days, while he and Harry get used to each other again.

And Hedwig and the broom, along with all of Harry's stuff, was at Ron's place, and is currently on the train. I hope. I should check on that.

I'm not whining (not really)... I just have perfomance anxiety about the HP characters. Particually, Ron. He's my Xander Harris (as in I think I can't "get" him).

Actually... I tend to read it where I see it first. If I catch it on LJ I'll read it there, if I catch it on TTH I read there. Kind of depends on how bored I get at work and how often I check the sites... :)

Setting up a mailing list/yahoo group/whatever probably isn't a bad idea. I probably won't join, because I stalk track you on lj via my (very sparsely populated) friends list, and I typically hit the TtH latest page 4-5 times a day. I tend to check my personal email maybe twice a day at most.

In other words, odds are that any update email would get to me long after I'd already read the update.

Looking back at the results thus far, I almost wish I'd answered with the "Anita/Harry" response, just because nobody else has. Honestly, though, I'm happier with it being more or less relationship neutral for Harry.

For the house of mini-wol I think Slytherin would be an interesting choice. Gryfindor is just way to obvious and you have to admit it sounds terribly cliche. Hufflepuff would be an interesting choice as well.

Yupper. Slytherin, if only to see Snape's reaction. (Especially when it becomes apparent that the Dreaded Potter is going to be the boy's mentor.) Will house loyalty (and/or common decency) win out, or will he secretly hope the boy gets devoured by the Giant Squid?
