For all of you lovely people, I have a crossover fic rec. Fandom? Tir Alainn and Merry Gentry

Plus it's by Houses, so you know it's amazing. I highly recommend. Act I is complete, with Acts II and III to follow.

Title: Gathering Gloom
Author: [livejournal.com profile] houses_on_fire
Universes: Tir Alainn and Merry Gentry
Pairings: Morag/Sholto, Meredith/everyone else. No, I’m not kidding.
Rating: PG-13
Timeline: Post Tir Alainn trilogy, Post book 4 MG.
Disclaimers: Tir Alainn belongs to Anne Bishop, Merry Gentry belongs to Laurel K Hamilton
Summary: Taranis uses forbidden magic to call an assassin he believes will finally settle his Maeve Reed problem. Only thing is, said assassin has a mind of her own and isn’t particularly pleased to be back from the dead.

*grins* A characteristic of Hamilton's series, no? Thank you for the rec, btw -- I can never seem to find Merry Gentry fics... and crossovers are lovely.

It certainly is. There's not enough MG fic in the world and as with all underrepresented fandoms, I consider it my duty to fill the gap with recs :)

I'm slightly afraid of how much I want to read this fic with that pairing. Morag was always my favorite. :D

Morag was my favorite character, too, so I couldn't just leave her story unfinished. Mixing her with MG? Too much fun. I hope you enjoy it!

I actually have already read Act I at TtH, but now that I know where to look, I'm contemplating starting reading Anne Bishop's books. I got an impression of "interesting" from the fic, and this just confirmed that. If Mhal's recommending a book series, odds are it's good, after all.

To be fair, I haven't read the Anne Bishop books, only the MG ones, but even without that, I find this to be an awesome story.

...Well okay then, we both think it's a freakin' awesome story premise, and trust houses' good taste in crossover choices. There, that covers it!

Hopefully you enjoyed Act One! They are interesting, if flawed, books. Perfect for ficcing, in other words.

I did enjoy it, actually. Poor Sholto keeps getting left in the dust by people; it's not his fault he got his dad's Ecchi Tentacle Monster appendages, after all.

Tyrannus needs a reality-check, followed by an extremely-painfull death. Hedgehogs, echidneas and porquipines should be involved.

Awww, thank you! I do hope everyone enjoys it. This fic isn't much of a feedback generator, and every little bit helps! It looks like I'll have some time to work on it up here in AK, too. Yay!
