Arg! I am unmotivated by the writing. I blame it on the huge work thing that I just finished and I am now unable to write coherently. I also have to work tomorrow (boo) and won't have a chance to write all weekend (double boo). When the heck am I going to finish all my WIPs??

Now, an AB drabble.

Title: The Second Mark
Characters: Jean-Claude, Anita
[livejournal.com profile] abvh100 Challenge: #67 - Anita Blake Remix (crossposted)
Note: Set in chapter 13 of Guilty Pleasures. Yes, the first book.
Word Count: 200

The door slammed, a thin sheet of wood between Anita and the danger that was Nikolaos. Jean-Claude whirled back to the fight, to stand against Nikolaos, but he knew he could not win this battle alone.

Nikolaos would see him dead, he knew that now. There was only one way to save himself; a daring way, a plan he had accidentally put into motion to save the life of Anita, one who hunted his kind. He would place himself in her small hands, entwine their fates for all eternity... if she did not kill him for what he was about to do.

Gathering all of his power in one last desperate burst, he reached out, followed the tendrils of need he had lain upon Anita when he had given her the first mark. He knew she ran up the dark stairs, her strength failing, her fear overwhelming. He could almost see her in the darkness, bathed in the dark blue flame of his power. She screamed as the dark flames rushed toward her, but to no avail.

"Forgive me."

Her dark necromancy flared up, cold and deadly, as the second mark became real.

She was his.

Cool little peak into Jean-Claude's mind during that moment.

Ohhh, going back to the beginning. I liked it :) Simple, the beginning. Nice how you added the forgive me.

The writing will come. Get all of the work stuff out of the way for awhile and it will come. And we will be here waiting....Cuz you- brilliant ; ).

Better death by Anita than death by Nikki-poo.

And don't worry about the writing. I was afraid that you were writing too much, anyway -- and that there would be an inevitable crash and burn of your enthusiasm, from which you might not recover. Pace yourself, dearie! Then you'll still be writing and enjoying it when you're an old hag like me. :-)

I love this from JC's perspective. You captured the urgency and desperation very well. Nice throwback to the early days ;)

Yeah, working on Saturday always sucks, but take care of your RL first, we'll still be waiting here. You probably just need some time away from the computer to get your creative juices flowing again :P

Back to the beginning. I should probably reread the series, ne? *grins* I like Jean Claude's perspective, especially considering the original is exclusively Anita's.

Poor Jean-Claude - doing what he needed to do save his life, and ruining those around him :( He is one complex man...er vampire.

This is Demona - would you please add me to your friend list?
