Finally.

The final Harry Potter title has been announced.

SF Gate story on the title, or you can go to JK Rowling's website and play a game to find it (cheat hints on the game in the SFG article)

Swoooon! Thank you for the linky. The title suggests to me that the story will revisit the night Harry's parents were murdered. Time turners - not just for third years anymore.

O_o

Oh man, I never thought of that! It'd be just like her to pull something from book three out like that.

Like Chekov said, never put a loaded time-turner on the wall unless you're going to use it in the last act.

(That's my new fave phrase. I need an icon of that)

"Like Chekov said, never put a loaded time-turner on the wall unless you're going to use it in the last act."

Heh. And while using it to rescue Sirius was worthy enough, I was always more than a little bothered that they would give TTs out to *schoolkids*. I mean, was she just being a little lazy about introducing a key plot element or was she showing how inexcusably casual the Ministry is?

I hope it was how lazy the Ministry was. Also, Dumbledore could have pushed it so that the kids would know how to use it, just in case. But yeah, it's a dangerous thing for anyone, let alone hot-headed 13-year-olds.

OMG your the third person to have HP news. So maybe this isnt a lie or some hoaxs (damn my spelling). maybe now I'll go read it.

It's on the JKR Website, so I hope it's real. Either that, or she's been hacked.

I like the title. Sounds fun. Or at least action packed.

Either that, or she's been hacked.

A Flash site like that? I'm guessing it'd be very difficult and unbelievably time consuming without the base files to work from.

I didn't go through the site to find the title... the description of the process from SF Gate convinced me that her web designer was clearly nuts.

Yeah, so not likely.

her web designer was clearly nuts.
Hell yah. I had to follow the steps in the news article just for fun. There's no logical reasoning behind it.

Haha, yea, I followed them too. I always wondered how people figured out how to open that door. Clearly (from those directions) those who do figure it out, have way too much time on their hands.

I so hope its real.

I'm sorry, but am I the only one that thinks it sounds like the title of HP pr0n?

Helena Bonham Carter *is* a rather attractive bad guy, isn't she? And I recently watched an old Highlander episode with Jason Isaacs, who's even prettier with shorter, darker hair.

SHRIEKS! Helena Bonham Carter? God, I'm such a 'tard. I didn't know she was in it. And as Bellatrix? Can I say divine bit of casting right there?

I went through the site to see it too... fun times.

Though, you should look at what jrabbit discovered and posted on the TTH forums:

have you been to the IMDb and looked at the stills for OotP? Looked at Dumbledore's Army? Well, if you have, did you notice that Ginny Weasly is the first girl in the movies to be wearing school uniform slacks? at least, she's the only girl in that photo wearing them, and i don't recall a girl wearing slacks as part of her uniform in any other movie.

Date: 2006-12-22 01:37 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com
Yeah, I've seen those. I don't know what to make of it. Maybe that she has to wear the brothers' handmedowns?

Of course, they should all really be wearing robes, but I'm not going to get into that right now.

(I still love those images of Luna, tho)

Date: 2006-12-22 03:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] watcher457.livejournal.com
well, the robes i understand. they're in an extracurriculer activity and the robes get in the way. if harry was smart, though, he'd realize that they should practice with the robes for that very reason. most likely, the robes are an ugly visual for close scenes with a lot of people and the costume designer and/or director didn't want them.

but pants? even if they were a hand-me-down, schools with a uniform usually frown on the break of the uniform. even if it is part of the boy's uniform, one girl can't wear pants or they all would want to.

(btw, i think it's cool. i feel sort of chauvinist, but it's just... odd.)

It doesn't work for me :( I've followed all the instructions but the blasted chime just refuses to change into a key and be dragged *anywhere*! I even installed the newest version of flashplayer to all of my browsers and tried it and it just won't work! *wails* This can't be one of those things that just don't work with win2000, right?

I'm not sure what's going on. You clicked on the cobweb?

I'll give you this: The SFG article has the right name, as right as it it in the game.

Yeah, I actually learned the name before I even realized there was something to do at the site, I just wanted to see what it was like, try how hard it would have been to solve it by myself and all that... turns out that it was impossible, now I just want to know why...
I've actually found a couple of other bits within the site that don't work for me, it's infuriating.

This happened to me, too, when I had the Accessibility bit turned on. (Which is ironic in itself.) I don't really have a lot of faith in the workings of that site, if having two windows to the same room at the same time give me different results. Argh.

How do you turn it off? As far as I can tell, it does nothing - only gives me a couple of options that don't do anything...

From: [identity profile] kindigo.livejournal.com
On the entrance page, before all the craziness, where there is a large 'Accessibility' button, a link to the text-only version, or flags representing the language of your choice. Clicking on any of the flags should lead you to the site without the Accessibility thing.

Oh, forget the previous question... this is what you get when you almost never visit the site from the main page and the one time you do, you click the wrong button... feeling stupid now... On the other side, now everything works :) Thanks for the hint!

Deathly = Deadly
Hallows = Holy things

Therefore:

Deathly Hallows = the stuff in the Ark of the Covenant. (Make Voldemort open it, Harry!)
