Characters: Gabriel (angel) and Azazel (demon) and Sam.
Spoilers: for SPN 2x10, "Hunted"



Gabriel and Azazel stood side by side, watching Sam and Ava talk on the rooftop.

"They will never know what they are," Gabriel murmured.

"They don't need to." Azazel smiled. "Look at him, so close to the edge.”

Gabriel said nothing.

"Don’t blame me for their destruction." Azazel vanished slowly into the sky. "I didn’t start this little bet on free will."

Gabriel turned away, focused on Sam and Ava as they clambered down from the rooftop.

Unbeknownst to the children, storm clouds were gathering on the horizon.

Gabriel only hoped that they would be able to escape the rain.

Very mysterious. There seem to hints of some fandom theories (Sam is the demon's kid, Sam is the child of angel/nephelim).

I must admit, I am a huge fan of this piece of meta: The Possibilities of Sam Winchester: Of Nephilim and the Role of Azazel (http://furor-scribiend.livejournal.com/100827.html). It talks a lot about the possible genetic background of these kids.

But yes, there's a lot to point to Sam as being "born that way"

*shivers* I'm so excited about this season! *okay, so I haven't watched Season 1 yet... just the last two eps. But still... I pretty much get the picture.*

I'm totally into this season as well. We spent like 30 minutes last night talking about the show after it was over. It's interesting, the continuing plot thread about Sammy and the other children. I just hope they keep up the fun spook of the week stuff too.

funny thing is the latest chapter well Dean finds out (technically readers find out as Dean is going through major denial) that he may actually be some kind of human host for the Archangel Michael, and well the whole angel thing in this episode reminded me of it.

There's an old wheeze (or maybe a story I'm forgetting) about how the whole of human existance stemmed from a bet between God and the Devil. Free will, good and evil, all of it. Them on either ends, and us in the middle. Fun times!
