I have discovered Dr. Who and Torchwood.

All my fandom soul can say is, "Oh noes".

I'm still on Dr. Nine, but I suspect I'll like Dr. Ten as well. Hooah!

From what I've seen (little clips on the internetz) I suspect that I will love 10 as much as 9.

Oh, the anticipation.

Totally OT (kinda)

I'm rereading Inevitable (well, not completely rereading, I've been skipping ahead to my favourite parts :D) and I just tried to access your website and I'm getting an error. Don't know if it's my end or yours.

No idea what's up with the site. I tried accessing it a few minutes ago and had the same result. And it's late, sadly, and I'm too tired to navigate my strange convoluted webhost company.

Try TTH, they're always up :) http://www.tthfanfic.com/story.php?no=6214

I've just finished watching the last three seasons, myself. Nine is my favorite, but the above commenter's right - Ten doesn't disappoint in the least.

If I'm remembering right, he's the first doctor to dethrone Four in the yearly 'who's your favorite Doctor' contest the Doctor Who magazine puts out in decades.

I adore the new series of Doctor Who (and Torchwood for that matter). Nine was brilliant as the PTSD Doctor, but Tennant does a fabulous job as the bouncy manic 10. Part of 10's attraction is that Tennant is such a fanboy, this is the guy who wrote an essay for school about he wanted to be Doctor Who when he grew up.

Captain Jack is brilliant which is why I leaped all over Torchwood when it first aired. Ianto quickly became my favourite character although if you have only just started watching the show I don't want to spoil you as to why. Gwen on the other hand deserves to be taken out and shot. I know she is supposed to be the character we empathise with, but I ended up finding more admirable personality traits in the rampaging Weevils.

That is so cool.

I'm several eps into Torchwood, so if you're talking about the Cybermen ep, then I know all about Ianto :D And his stopwatch comment at the end of "They Keep Killing Suzie" was just awesome.

Gwen's well acted, but the character (I find)(so far) is written in a manner that I cannot find sympathetic.

The Rampaging Weevils ep is the next one for me to see! I'm looking forward to it.

Heee! I adore both 9 and 10. Jack, though... He owns a little bit of my soul. John Barrowman is so talented that it's not even funny. He and his husband both need to find a woman to be a surrigate mother because their genes are just too pretty to not pass on.

Jack... oh Jack. There are no words. So well acted, so hot, so quippy.

And John Barrowman is six feet of hotness. And have you heard him sing? ?

K, I need to stop the rabid fangirling now.

Is that an old-skool Dalek? I saw the Dalek episode last night... that was fun times (and now we know the answer to the age-old question - how the hell to Daleks get up stairs?)

Mwahahaha! One of us.... one of us....

And such splendid timing! CrotchwootTorchwood season 2 starts tomorrow for us in the UK and on the 26th Jan for you guys.

I'll be fascinated to see which characters and episodes get under your skin. Given that you're watching Nine, love to hear what you thought of "Dalek", "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances" and the season end.

Nine was my favourite, but Ten is almost as good. But without the slightest doubt what makes the series is Rose! I am in love, love, love. :-)

PS. When you watch the last two eps of series two make sure you have *lots* of tissues handy! (And that's not really a spoiler, as you'll find out.)

However, the part of me that's waiting for more installments on all your WiPs is cringing! ;-P

Tennant's Doctor has the demeanor of a small child, excitable and very much enthralled with the universe... after Nine's melancholy, it was refreshing to see the Doctor enjoying life again. Tennant bring so much energy and depth to the character. He's darker in some ways. This is a much more emotional, more human Doctor. While he makes it quite apparent that the Doctor has suffered much in his long life, he retains his sense of humor. I think you will love "The Girl in the Fireplace". It's quite moving.

The Great Doctor Who Rewatch

First: DON'T LOOK AT FANDOM UNTIL YOU'VE CAUGHT UP ON EPISODES!!! There's some major twists and shocks throughout the three seasons, and the season finales ALWAYS do something drastic (and there's even one particular episode has made 95% of everyone who's ever seen it literally cry, myself included), so if you haven't been spoiled and want to remain that way, stay out of fandom. All three seasons are considered common knowledge now and people mention the major plot developments casually in posts and in fanfic summaries.

However, season 4 is starting in a few months and to prepare for it, many fans are taking part in DW Rewatch community (http://community.livejournal.com/dwrewatch/), in which everyone in the community watches two episodes a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, starting with season 1 and hopefully ending season 3 right before season 4 starts in the UK. It's a great place for meta and discussion on episodes, though people will sometimes compare an episode being watched for the current week to later episodes, so occasionally there is some spoilery talk.

Currently, we just did the season 1 finale last Sunday, and will do the CIN mini-ep and Christmas special on Wednesday. (schedule: http://community.livejournal.com/dwrewatch/37811.html#cutid1 ) So if you want to see what other fans have thought of the episodes you've seen so far (and don't mind the occasional spoilery comparison), and/or if you want to have a steady stream of Who for the next several months, check it out.

I really hate you right now. You know, I was being a good student. I was doing my readings, paying attention in class, going to class. Now that I've seen this community, I'm going to be rewatching Doctor Who. Instead of reading. Or going to class. I blame you for my future failing marks, even though Doctor Who is so worth it.

Make sure you watch the Children in Need special 'Time Crash' it is really good and has my two favourite Doctors. Honestly it is really lovely! (watch it on youtube or some such, but waite until you are just about to watch the 2007 christmas special as it is set just before that)

Torchwood starts tomorrow - they say it will be less moany. I hope so otherwise they can all go (apart from Captain Jack of course). With James Masters and Freema Agyeman guesting there is hope yet!

I've still got 4 eps of Torchwood to watch from last season. It would be nice if it was a *bit* more lighthearted... and from what I saw in the online trailer for tomorrow, it may just be :D

Its about time you headed into the Doctor Who fandom! Like everyone else has already said, you are going to love all of it. My favorite was definitely the Nine but I love Ten so much I can hardly tell the difference.

As for Torchwood...I can't wait for the new series but series one I couldn't stand (beside the first and last two episodes) so I hope you find more enjoyment then I did.

Again, WELCOME (and I can't wait to read all the fanfiction this is going to cause! Maybe a Doctor Who/Stargate Atlantis? Maybe a Balancing Act/Doctor Who crack!fic! The possibilities are endless!).
