I could have gone my whole life without seeing the sign up in my neighbourhood:

LOST BOA CONSTRICTOR

Which got me to thinking, so I present to you, the best of this week's Vancouver Craigslist's Lost and Found:

Lost camo shorts w/ Wallet and Ipod - Wreck Beach Saturday Night (Wreck Beach)
Hi, I lost my black wallett, no money, but ids and everything. Also, my really old ipod was in the shorts, Again, not worth much, but sentimental. Please call if found - reward - Josh Niemier 778 319 1241. Probably lost between trail 3 and 6 late Saturday night, early sunday morning.

It's the "probably" that gets me.

good sum of cash found (GVRD)
found large sum of cash.
tell me where and what its in and it will returned minus the my rent and car payment.

It's expensive to be an asshole these days.

Found Mug (New Westminster)
Custom Engraved Pewter mug / beer stein found on 12th Street in New Westminster.

Ahh, to be young and drunk in New West on a Friday night.

lost wallet downtown, probably by the Cambie bar (Downtown)
lost a wallet.

And the weird award goes to:

Chocolate found (North Vancouver)

Okay, I'm actually laughing out loud, for reals, at the chocolate one. I mean - what? People are so strange.

Poor snake - this time of year it'll be feeling the cold a bit. Any indication of size etc.?

The poster actually said it was "biggish". It's probably curled up in the dude's basement around a hot water pipe... if I get cold outside at 5pm, that snake has no chance. Hopefully dude finds it soon.

aw. the boa won't hurt you, darling. children and small dogs, maybe, but not you.l actually, probably not even children.

the chocolate one is a moron. the large sum of cash... what a jerk. i'd have been to the police, calling around... i mean, you don't just post as large sum of cash on craig's list. people need it. wtf?

I also live on the third floor and across a busy street from where the boa used to live (was on the sign) so I know it's not going to get me... just a phobia. It's probably curled up in the dude's apartment behind the dryer or something. It's pretty nippy out here these days.

And frankly, about 75% of people who post on Craigslist are brain dead, I think... If I found a large stash of money, I'd take it to the cops. Or, if I was an asshole like the asshole who made that post, I'd keep the money and not post about it on Craigslist. Moron.

This made me think of a Craigslist post I saw a few weeks ago on the flist, thought you might enjoy it:

Made me laugh, at any rate!

The lost boa constrictor post reminds me of the time in grad school when I got up in the morning, opened the shades in the window of my semi-underground apartment (the window was at pavement level of the parking lot) and discovered a 4+ foot long iguana staring back at me.

It was one of the first warm days of spring, his owners down the block had opened up the windows, and he had pushed out a screen and made a break for freedom.

We got him cornered with a trash can just as his owners were out looking for him. My snake-phobic self would far, far rather deal with something like that again instead of a boa constrictor.

Talking about lost and found, I recall you saying how awesome a music video of Resident Evil would be put to the song Umbrella. I found one (Scott Simmon sings it, and it's not fantastic, but...) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zJbadyRZvaw
