A whole bunch of stuff.

First off, Inevitable commentary on Chapter 29. I think that writing Dumbledore is the hardest thing I've had to do. We all know he's a bit insane, but brilliant. He's got the weight of his world's fate on his shoulders, and he has decided (IMO) that there are people that need to be sacrificed. Yet he still is guiding and attempting to nurture Harry. You will not be surprised when I think this cannot end well.

Anita, on the other hand, does have some vaild points, and keep in mind that she's only heard a very small part of Harry's story (like the prophecy, and Harry's faced Voldemort several times. Harry hadn't told her the "whys" of any of that.) That will be explored next chapter.

I had someone comment on What A Bitch (tm) Anita is being. Maybe I'm getting writer's tunnel vision again, but I think I'm writing Anita as she's portrayed in the books. She's over-protective, blunt, and still tries to play by the rules. In her world, it's a rule that you don't send a kid to do a grown-up's job, which is how she's viewing 11-year-old Harry going after the Philosopher's Stone. (Again, she doesn't have the whole story)

I hope that people are also keeping in mind that she suffered some severe emotional and physical trauma at the hands of a witch recently. That will affect how she views people from Harry's world, no matter how much she protests.

And it will all be discussed soon. I hope you all understand, but the next chapter will have no set date. I need, *need* to get this one right. It will be out when it's out, as it has severe repercussions for the rest of the story.

Dawn and Damian? Dawn and Damian? Though I have liked Dawn in your cross overs, I never warmed to her as a character. And knowing that Damian is Harry's grandfather, I don't know. He seems too much the older man.

I will gladly wait for the next chapter of Inevitable. As I said, I thought you got Dumbledore straight on. And Anita as well. This is the most traumatized I've ever seen Anita and her protective instincts are out in full force. I love this story!

I was winding Any Given Tuesday (of the nine-month hiatus fame) toward hints of Dawn/Damian. It just made sense at the time *shrugs*.

I'm not sure how long the next chapter will take. I think I need to take a step back and re-read what I've got so far, to see how I'm going to progress, in order to make sure I get it all right :)

On the subject of people's reaction to Anita's bitchyness in this chapter, I felt that both Anita and Dumbledore were in character...but as I was reading, I felt uncomfortable about how Harry was reacting. Did Harry truly not understand the subtext of the conversation between Anita and Dumbledore, that they were vying for dominance? I suppose that Harry's Dominant traits were subdued by the overwhelming prescence of Dumbledore and a protective Anita, because he seemed to be acting very submissive towards the end of the chapter. I suppose that Harry could just be going through that conciliatory 'why can't we all just get along' adolescent phase. I remember this phase in my own life...it never quite worked out, the adults were too hard-headed and -hearted. I suppose that it could be something else?

The thing about Harry not seeing (or at least not recognizing) the dominace battle is that Harry does not see himself as being dominated. He never has. He's not a follower in any way, and when someone tries to subdue him (Snape, for example, or Ubridge), he fights back with all his might. If he was in his right mind, he might have noticed the thing between Dumbledore and Anita, but he was not in his right mind then.

Why not? At first, he was surprised to see Dumbledore, then worried about Anita. The break in the scene, the conversation with Harry and Dumbledore alone, was so much like old times that Harry didn't see the very subtle manpiulation. Then, when Anita came back in the room, Harry was still reeling from his revelation.

He knows Anita's over-protective, but he's still getting to know her. She's also not intentionally trying to dominate him; she just does that with everyone. She's trying to stop, following her conversation with Jason.

As for Dumbledore... we'll get to that. Harry is going to have a bit of a revelation soon, that flips his world view on its head. Most of that has to do with Dumbledore.

Duncan/Amanda! Not enough good Ducan/Amanda fic out there. Perhaps should drabble some.

I read the chapter late last night and didn't have time to review. I thought both Anita and Dumbles were behaving very much in character- as was Harry for his situation. Anita does not know that Dumbles is running a war, she sees and adult putting a child at risk. If she knew the full scope of what was going on, she probably would relent a bit, or at least that's my opinion. I very much enjoyed this chapter, but I totally understand why you'd need to step back to get all your ducks in a row about the next one.

I finally have internet back (again), and saw this post and had to comment.
I know I've raved over your story in the past, but I just had to reiterate just how much I am enjoying it. For me, the Anita characterization is right on, and if anything a bit (or more) less annoying than I've been finding her in the most recent books. Harry's interactions with both Nathaniel and Jason have become some of my favorite bits to look forward to, and I love seeing Nathaniel's personal growth as well.

In general, I think that you are hitting the nail on the head with characterization, and I cannot wait to see more of it in your next chapter, whenever that chapter may come about.

Also, I just had to tell you... I had just seen that you had updated on Saturday and was trying to get to it when my internet went out, and the wait to read the latest chapter just about killed me. *g*

Thanks for your kind words on the characterization. I am finding the new trio (Harry and Jason and Nathaniel) to be very fun to write. The next couple of chapters will have mucho Nathaniel development.

Hey sorry for taking awhile to comment on the last 2 chapters of Inevitable, but I was busy with finals and homework. Anywho I loved them as always. I don't recall Anita ever being screwed up for so long, but then again she's never been cursed before. She will be fine by the end of the story right? She's gotta be. I wanna see her kill/ beat some folks (especially Meng Die, I haven't forgotten about that little incident). So are Anita and Dumbledore ever going to use magic on each other? If so, who do you think would win? I think Anita would, or actually I hope she would, Dumbledore is too secretive for his own good. Oh and one more thing, I noticed in one your comments, you said Anita was the most powerful necromancer of the last 1000 years and the scariest but isn't Voldemorte a necromancer too or did I misread that? If he is, does that mean Anita is more powerful?

No worries. Anita's only been messed up for a few days; it's just that the chapters go on for so long that it seems like longer.

Most of what you're asking I can't tell you, I'd give away the ending :)

As for necromancers: I think that Voldie knows death magics, but he's not a necromancer like Anita is. It's inside her; it's what she is. I suspect Voldie had to give up a lot to get his hands on death magic like that (and I'm going to address that, never fret)
