LJ Interests meme results

  1. any given tuesday:
My first big Buffy/Anita Blake crossover. It's been almost done for a very long time now... I know how it ends but I can't make myself finish it. I need more discipline.
  2. buffy:
Oh, Buffy. I watched every show of Buffy (except for a few months of disillusionment with season 4) when it was on TV. It was my show, baby.
  3. crossovers:
I love crossovers, always have. My first stab at crossovers was when I was six. Little House on the Prairie/Nancy Drew. It made no sense, but that was okay. I was six. I've written many crossovers, but my main one these days is Anita Blake, which will surprise no one reading this list.
  4. drabbles:
Drabbles are an art form. 100 words can put across a more powerful story than something five times its length, in the hands of the right writer. I enjoy the challenge.
  5. fanfic:
What's to explain about fanfic? Taking the ideas so artfully woven by others, and expanding on them.
  6. fic recs:
When I read a good story, I like to rec it for others (as opposed to wrecking it for others). Sharing is what it's all about. Also, there is so much stuff out there, that it's nice to find a beautiful story.
  7. firefly:
My new obsession. I watched the first episode at a friend's house last month, then glomped onto the rest ASAP. The writing, the acting, the world-building, the vision... *loves*
  8. highlander:
Fun 90s TV. I have such a crush on Methos still. Something about the cynic appeals to me.
  9. icons:
Playing with photoshop, and making icons, is fun. I also like to have icons that other people want to use. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
  10. laurell k. hamilton:
I really enjoy her writing, her imagination. The Anita Blake books have captured my imagination in a way that hasn't happened in quite some time.

I love crossovers, too. I for one am firmly convinced that Giles-the-Watcher is Remus Lupin. (Have you EVER seen them in the same room together? Didn't think so. And notice that Giles has this unnerving tendency to disappear just when Buffy needs him around -- such as during the full moon? I rest my case.) Oh, and depending on the crossoververse, Snape is either a blood rellie of Lord Morpheus, Sherlock Holmes, and/or Spock.

Sherlock Holmes? *swoon* The first book I bought brand new was a Sherlock Holmes anthology.

Have you read any of Laurie R. King's Marry Russell books?

Yay for FANFICTION!
Hip-Hip for CROSSOVERS!
Hooray for ANITA BLAKE AND LAUREL K. HAMILTON!
God bless you for all of Mhalachai's stories!

I love sci-fi esp. Elizabeth Moon and Anne McCafferey and Pierce Anthony and Philip K. Dick and C.S.Lewis and ETC. ETC. I have a shelf that runs along the perimeter of my bedroom; the shelf is stocked with books every where (In asscending alphabetical order by Author.) Hamilton has her own block of colorful paperbacks on the wall, too.

I love math and have kept all my school books on the subject and all the english books and all the science books (and that physics book that they said we could use in college but we actually couldn't).

I love walks and hiking through the Appalacian Forrests.

I love boiled penuts and boudin (that's cajun rice sausage).

I love Vietnemeese noodles. (Buford Hwy. is for Pho#1. and if you know what I'm talking about, then you know where I'm from.)

You know, I don't think I have ever had a boiled peanut. What's it like?

Hiking in the forest... *sigh* one of my fave things to do. We actually went running tonight in the woods near my old university. Such a nice time (outside the panting and whining, that is)

The boiled penut is a "Suth'rn delicaysie." You take a large tin pot pour a buch of raw penuts with shells into it. Let boil in Salty water for a long while. Add seasonings and peppercorn and whatever else you want. After the penuts are nice and soft and boiled, ladel them up into a brown paper bag. Sell on GA 400 and other major expressways for exorbitant prices. mmmmmmmmyum! I love boiled penuts!

ps-the spicy ones are really, really spicy.
