Very nice. I love how Harry messed up the transfiguration, so many authors make it so that he can just do magic and it's very obnoxious. It's nice seeing the flaws. The outbursts were very OotP Harry, and having spent the weekend re-reading Realizations by WishWeaver for like the 12th time, it's a very different Harry then what I'm used to at the moment. I thought it was done rather nicely, although I do think he will be protesting the protection more in the future since Harry (no matter how he's portrayed) is always very independent.

I can't remember, do the Anita people know that Harry knows a werewolf? I'm sure I could figure it out if I re-read your whole fic, but I think it's easier to just ask. If they don't, I'm surprised Anita didn't ask about Remus since she's the nosiest person alive. Although I suppose it will come up later.

A recording? That seems so...muggle.

hee, I love the little bit where they bring up Byron, and how diplomatic Jason is about it.

I can't wait to see the interaction with the rest of the pack. I keep forgetting that Harry's a werewolf now.

I really liked the Damian/Harry scene . . especially that Harry called Damian 'sir'. It's very Harry, and Damian's acceptance of it without comment seemed right. There's a likeness to them, that I'm not sure I would have noticed before but that you've brought out.

And the changes you made to the first segment worked very well.

After a brief re-read of the HP books, I came to the conclusion that Harry, for all his goofing off around Ron and Hermione, acts respectfully to adults that he respects (Not Snape, that's for sure.) Since he doens't know Damian yet, I put him in that camp.

Thanks about the first section of text. I had to bash my head against a wall for a bit, but I think it worked. Plus I got a few good comments in there that I'll be using as foreshadowing for the next chapter :)

I know what you mean. In OotP alone, Harry and Ron had a lot of trouble with some of the homework, mostly Charms (notice how in Defence, Harry is a wiz? I figure it's his self preservation instinct kicking in) and transfigeration.

Have you read the excerpt from the next chappie she's posted at her Yahoo! Group? Reading that is what persuaded me to re-read it yet again. Hopefully it's a sign that the next chapter is coming soon.

That's true, although living in an orphanage he might not have had that much access to one. It just seems a bit odd considering how anti-muggle he is.

Loved Damian and Harry's interaction at the end. It was so...formally poignant. The 'sir's and cautious offerings of family connection were beautifully done, and had me tearing up something terrible. Harry also handled the situation with the Lamia well- or I should say you did. His casual use of magic so radically different than that of his new companions was perfectly placed. I also quite liked Anita and Richard's civility. You've written them as they should be- prickly and difficult, but united and trying their best. Very nicely done.

Actually, I think one of Voldemort's greatest strenghts is that he was raised Muggle. Have you read WTB? He utilizes Muggle type things there- mostly because he views it as using the weapons of the enemy against them. He's a very clever creature- I wholeheartedly believe he'd use everything available to him.

Besides we know there are wizarding recording devices: Melanie could very well have overheard those.

I think this is where LKH is headed, them being able to basically lead the pack but fundamentally unable to live together. They're trying, which is what Richard started doing in ID, I feel.
