The lovely [livejournal.com profile] ligeia_bm filled in some of the details on the issues with Pomme de Sang here. The site's back up, they are changing hosts, and the site mods are just being amazing on this. Give them a big round of applause, folks!

And to celebrate, I think I'll go write some Anita/Jason angsty Inevitable smut. Well, soon. I need to get some sleep first.

Does anyone know what's up with Pomme De Sang (http://pommedesang.com/)? The url now points to an online medicine portal.

Um, help? All my poor reviews... :(

ETA: Apparently it's an expired domain name. Hopefully this will get sorted out in the next few days.

Like I've been saying all day, ignorance is not a virtue.

From [livejournal.com profile] alexcat, inspired by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] sabriel_0405, the most frequently challenged books from 1990-2000

cut for listyness )

I need to look into some more of these books, to see what they're all about, and I'll probably read some more of these too.

(Except for American Psycho. That books creeps me out to no end)

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] asynca: Meme!

If you had me under your command and could make me write anything, any fandom and any pairing, regardless of how crack-addled it might be, what would you love to see me write?

Plz note: I'm not going to write these, but I'm curious as to what you think I should do. Or even could do.

In ficcly news: I'm halfway through Dawning Light 11, the cute part of Christmas Day. I'm about to go into a diabetic coma from the levels of sweetness. As you might expect, I'm about to flip that around and get things horrible. It disturbs me how much I enjoy tormenting fictional characters.

Much love

Traci Lords appeared on the Gilmore Girls.

As a very proper upper-crust interior decorator

My life is complete.

[/fangirl]

(background) Traci Lords was "Jill" in Profiler season two, Jack's little serial killer girlfriend. Profiler was my first fandom, and was quite possibly the one in which I was most active... if you're following how into Anita Blake I was/am, that's saying something. (/background)

Hey kids. Happy Saturday. Just a few quick notes:

1: To the anonymous poster who gave me an LJ-gift, thanks so much! I return the sentiment and wish you the best of the holiday season!

2. If you've recently friended me and want me to friend you back, drop by and say hi. Also, I'm kind of curious as to how you found me in the first place, so if you want to share.... :)

2. Does anyone have any idea what I can get my mother for Christmas?

3. I'm not sure what I want to write today. Maybe I'll go through and fix things. Or respond to all those comments I need to get to. Or watch some DVDs. It's boring here in Vancouver right now.

One week and an hour to vacation!

This was going to be a poll, but then I realized that there's only one story that I wanted to do this with. So:

Do you think I should remix Family Hour to fit with Dawning Light?

Cuz dude, it would rock so hard.

Mostly, I wanted to make a poll, as it's been so long. I figured out that what I really want is interaction. So, here's your challenge:

Ask me any question regarding any fic. I will answer.

*checks watch* go!

Dude, there's so many of you! Seriously, everyone, thanks so much for your support and encouragement when it comes to my writing, and to putting up with the inevitable delays when it comes to work and life. I consider myself lucky to have such wonderful readers :)

So, anyone have anything to want to ask? Talk about? Comment away.

*sigh*

Oh, Supernatual wuv. I'm four episodes into the first season, and I love it so. I have some unanswered questions of course, which I'm sure I'll get answers to soon, but yeah. *swoon*

Next up is Bloody Mary, which I may have to watch in the bright daylight. I had nightmares about that urban myth when I was in elementary school.

Oh, and I have the perfect idea for a Supernatural/Anita Blake crossover. It's going to include violence and ghosts. Love love. I'll watch the rest of the season first to make sure the idea isn't shattered by upcoming events.

A word of advice: If you're ever writing a cover letter or sending in your resume for a job, please make sure you've spelled the position title correctly plztnx. Also, please spell-check your resume before hitting "send".

They were filming Smallville at my university today and I took a picture of the sound van:

Yes, I fangirled. No, didn't see anyone. C'est la vie.

Just a quick hello to pimp this over in [livejournal.com profile] mhal_fan:

A writing challenge from [livejournal.com profile] needlessnoodles, ficcing on my fics and based on Halloween. I'm explaining it badly, so go check it out. I want to play to, but I already have Halloween fic in the works (Well, the rest of Inevitable takes place on the two days surrounding Halloween).

In RL new:
-I am off to spend the day with my parents and take them out for a joint birthday dinner.
- The Apophysis flame fractal generator is so cool. I've been making these all morning. Cut for bigness )

Fic tomorrow.

PS I know I'm about three weeks behind on comments, but never fear! I will get to all comments over the next few days! Promise! I love comments and I love you all!

What fool decided it was a good idea to write a Harry Potter/Stargate Atlantis crossover?

Oh yeah.

You would not *believe* how many plot threads I've thrown out in the last four hours. But there's light at the end of the tunnel, and I hope it's not the train.

ETA 1045pmPST: I'm finished the chapter, now I have to go back and change all the verb tenses of "was verbing" to "verbed" and remove all this "looking" everyone's doing. They're making eye contact, we get it.

It's times like this I wish I could write better the first time 'round.

also, this chapter is 12,000 words long. Sheesh.

*zzz*

Oh, who am I kidding? I have no fic for today. I spent the morning hungover (sort of) and replying to Balancing Act 4 comments on LJ (I've given up replying to comments on TTH and Pomme de Sang because then I'd never get anything done) and writing some of a new mystery fic, and then I went shopping and ended up cooking for four hours while watching SGA episodes then reading SGA fanfic by the excellent [livejournal.com profile] ltlj. Now I've decided to just accept it and give up for the night.

So really, this post has no point except to say "Ooh, shiny!" I was going to do some fic recs, but I'm too lazy. Go read [livejournal.com profile] ltlj's stuff though, because she's a god.
mhalachai: (Default)
Damn it. All right, kids, the Stargate Atlantis/Anita Blake crossover idea has been shelved due a lack of creduilty on my part at this time.

Although this means I get to go back to working on Balancing Act part III. And the next part of the HP/SGA crossover. And Magnolia 4. And Inevitable 70. and and and and.

Or maybe I'll start that SGA fic. Either way, I'm going to go away now to do so.

(Er, not far away, just out for a while. Back later. PS what are you doing for the longest day of the YEAR tomorrow?)
mhalachai: (Default)
You all may have been noticing that none of the WIPs have been updated recently. There are two reasons for this:

1. Shiny new obsession: Oh, Stargate Atlantis. How you occupy the 5% of my brain devoted to fanfic/fandom (the other 95% is doing the important stuff, like regulating breathing and bad posture and wondering how they got the caramel in the caramilk bar). I'm fully aware that this will soon pass, or at least sublimate into the mess of other fandoms and, more importantly, fanfic in my head.

And yes, that noise you heard was me sighing at the inevitability of me starting a rather long epic story in SGA. It's probably going to be a shippy fic and I get to address that age-old question: So, were there any criminal Ancients before they all got Ascendy? Yeah, it's going to be really cheesy, but whatever. I don't plan to start this right now; I still have to get the plot down. And I have to ensure that I don't write the whole damned thing in present tense.

2. I'm stuck midway through not one, not two, but three boring chapters (Magnolia, Balancing Act, Inevitable), and I have to admit my enthusiasm for writing anything longer than 1,000 words has waned. I'm not in a rut: I know how the stories are going to go and all that. It's the typing that's getting to me. Maybe a re-read of the stories is in order.

Long story short (TOO LATE) things are puttering along nicely. So, all fics (including the ficlette fiasco stories) will come when they come :)

Oh, also I'm putting my SGA fics up on Wraithbait here.
mhalachai: (Default)
Hey kids. I know it's been a while since any instalments in the big stories cam out, but life's gotten complicated. It tends to do that a lot these days, but it's all par for the course. No hiatus is planned this time, I'll keep working on all my stuff as it comes to me. You'll be happy to know, however, that the plot bunnies in my head (Beside, Booty Call) are all GONE and I can get back to the WIPs. Yay.

(All plot bunnies except for the Sheppard/Teyla twu wuv plot bunny that in my brain, but it's never EVER going to get written because it's SO sappy and has all three of my no-nos in fic writing: puppies, children and robots)

But now a serious Harry Potter question. And please, feel free to discuss.
